THE BEST IN BEAUTY FROM THE GOLDEN GLOBES 2016
Last night's 'Golden Globes' award ceremony was brimming with beauty - and for those of you who were too dazzled by a never-ageing Brad Pitt sharing the same stage as feminist icon (and all-round swoon-inducer) Ryan Gosling, we've rounded up the best {make up} looks from the evening...
Kicking off with J-Lo, who looked breathtaking (and approx. 16 years old) in chartreuse silk with Hollywood waves and a vampy red lip. Her make up artist Mary Phillips created an ombré effect by defining the lip line with a darker pencil, before 'filling in' the lips with glossy colour - By Terry's {Terrybly Velvet Rouge} in #9 My Rouge is the perfect deep hue; finish with a dot of {Baume de Rose} for maximum lip volume.
Emilia Clarke (a.k.a. Khaleesi - below left) looked fresh-faced and dewy-skinned - her distinctive features showcased by a centre-parting and chic half-up do. Her pale green eyes were emphasised with subtle, heather coloured shadow and were framed with boyish, brushed-up brows. By Terry's {Ombre Blackstar} in shade 'Misty Rock' is beautiful.
Sticking with the berry tones, Olivia Wilde (below centre) emphasised her naturally feline eyes with deep, black liner and softly smudged-out mulberry shadow, which matched her dress and made her pale eyes 'pop'. Morphe's {35 Colour Plum Eye Shadow Palette (35P)} is eye-deal for enhancing your most important assets...
It's possible that I'm the only one obsessed with ethereal beauty Ms. Blanchett's pale (and mysterious) 'jellyfish' dress (L-O-V-E), but I'm definitely not the only one raving about her simple and sophisticated make up look. The icon looked pinched-her-cheeks pretty with a subtle flush of dewy blush and blue-pink lips - the perfect way to showcase that gorgeous Givenchy gown.
Both Amber Heard (below left) and Rooney Mara (below right) favoured a flawlessly luminous look - all glowing skin, fluttering lashes and juicy red lips. Amber's complexion looked almost too good to be true (try BECCA's incredible {Backlight Priming Filter} to recreate her soft-focus skin glow), while Rooney's look was dominated by those androgynously sexy eyebrows.
Bold and bushy, use Anastasia Beverly Hills' {5 Piece Eyebrow Stencil Kit} to create the desired shape, then apply {DipBrow Pomade} with the {#12 Brush} for flatteringly full and smudge-proof arches.
The centre parting was out in force, and Kirsten Dunst's low, slouchy bun was the ultimate foil for that plunging black gown and smouldering smoky eye make up. This sexy look can be achieved with just two pencils - use NudeStix {Magnetic Eye Colour} in 'Night' to enhance icy eyes, then exaggerate your natural lip colour with your favourite shade of nourishing {Lip and Cheek Pencil}.
