Ask Cult Concierge: The Best Skin Care Routine for Oily Skin

Oily skin is the result of heightened sebum production. Sebum is the oily substance that hydrates and protects skin, and while it’s vital for keeping skin healthy, too much of it can cause clogged pores and breakouts.

Signs of oily skin include that notorious shine, as well as enlarged and visible pores, and the emergence of {blackheads and whiteheads}. The last thing you want to do is to “get rid” of all that shine, as while a matte complexion might seem desirable, going too far the other way can cause your skin to dry out and lose its glow, not to mention its protective barrier. The aim is to find the right balance: a happy and healthy complexion that looks radiant and glowy, but not greasy.

STEP ONE: CLEANSE
