BEAUTY TRENDS

The Biggest Beauty Trend to try from London Fashion Week

The take-home {make up} trends from LFW? Er... bare skin is still in but this time, it's chilled out (less post-workout). The London catwalks were awash with pared-back {faces}, with bold boyish {brows}, the occasional (faux) freckle and a just-caught-snogging red {lip} spotted here and there.

At Daks, the look was "Brooke Shields out riding on a horse" (obviously!) with models boasting an all-American, girl-next-door 'wholesome' aesthetic. Complexions were prepped with a glow-giving massage, before plumping day cream, satin-finish foundation and a whisper of featherweight setting powder to achieve a low-key healthy glow.

The vibe was similar at Roksanda, Erdem and Antonio Beradi, with flawlessly beautiful, 'outdoorsy' skin the main focus. Even mascara took a back seat, with lashes brushed with brow product to add a hint of definition without looking too trop. You can use ZOEVA's teeny tiny {Petit Fan Brush} to sweep {Brow Powder} or {Brow Pomade} through your fringes for a super subtle flutter.

Brows were consistently brushed up and grown out - perfectly imperfect in a fresh and youthful way. Minimally 'styled', they were pretty much left to their own wild devices. You've plenty of time to help yours become Brooke-esque by autumn (you can find our top growing tips {here}), or use {Charlotte Tilbury} {Legendary Brows} to make substantial brows more biddable.

For skin? Channel the pony-trekking glow with semi-matte formulas, ultra-fine blurring powders and a custom colour for believable beautification. This look is very 'real', so avoid blanket coverage and allow your skin's natural quirks to prevent things becoming too flat.

Kevyn Aucoin's {The Sensual Skin Primer} can be worn alone to blur and grant a velvety-textured skin finish, or mixed with {The Sensual Skin Enhancer} to create a custom base - mix several shades and vary the proportions to address the changing needs of your complexion.

NYX Professional Makeup's {Pro Foundation Mixers} come in an array of shades to vary the depth, tone and finish of your foundation - just add a few drops to adjust the 'temperature' or amp up the glow if you like things more dewy.

A light dusting of powder keep things velveteen. The world's obsessing over BECCA's beautiful {Soft Light Blurring Powder} - it mimics photo-friendly, late-evening sunshine. Or try Beauty Bakerie's {Flour Setting Powder} to grant a soft focus finish. It comes in four shades - including pink and yellow to brighten and neutralise grey 'city' skin - and is so finely milled that there's no risk of caking or looking too chalky.

You can also experiment with the new wave of powder foundations. Laura Geller's {Double Take Baked Versatile Powder Foundation} can be used wet or dry to grant custom coverage. Apply dry with a buffing brush to unify with a sheer, weightless veil, or use a dampened buffing brush or {Beautyblender} sponge to increase the intensity when your skin needs a little extra help.
