Brought together by an obsession for beauty, the collective passion of our team is tangible from the very first moment that you step into Cult Beauty HQ: expertly posed palettes tempt you to take a swatch, excited conversations arise as new releases arrive and someone is always there to share need-to-know tips and tricks.

We’re not ones to keep a good thing to ourselves — that’s why our team were only too happy to divulge the make up must-haves that they couldn’t possibly live without, so you don’t have to either.

Watch the team in action {here} and read on to find out what make up means to them...

What was the first Cult Beauty product you tried that made you fall in love with make up?

Chikay, Performance Marketing Director: “I actually had a look through my Instagram to find my first haul… what I really remember was the classic {Anastasia Beverly Hills} {Brow Wiz}, most of the office used that back in the day — that and the {Dipbrow Pomade} are still firm favourites within my make up arsenal.

Niall, Copy Assistant: "I remember {Milk Makeup} coming to the UK and there was such a hype… The first Cult Beauty product that I ever tried was the {Hydro Grip Primer}; it was every YouTuber’s obsession and I wanted what they had… Now it’s my go-to product, it’s the one product that lives on in my make up bag."

If you could pick an emotion to describe what make up makes you feel, what would it be and why?

Ali, Merchandising Director: “The emotion that I most feel… with regard to {make up} is excitement because there are always new products coming out every single day. I just love it, I love seeing new innovation, new brands. There’s always something different, so I love that. I don’t get bored of make up EVER.”

Sandy, SEO Manager: “The emotion that it makes me feel is definitely confident. Whenever I feel tired, I always put a little bit of {bronzer}, a little bit of {blush} or {highlighter} and voilà! It makes me feel more confident about myself, it makes me feel ready.”

What is your dream vision for the beauty industry and what would you like it to achieve going forward?

Shana, Social Media Assistant: “I’d love to see more women of colour founding make up companies and skin care companies. To see people like myself within beauty campaigns as well. You can turn on the telly and the adverts are not people that look like me… and equally, I want to walk into a department stores and see that every make up stand has a shade of {foundation} available for me.

Lex, Co-CEO and Co-Founder: “I would like to see more universal standards internationally, more corporate collaboration to try and change things, especially from a sustainability angle. It is not something you can do in isolation, it has to be part of a collaboration if we’re actually going to change anything in this industry. We need to agree on universal standards that customers can trust. That is the only way that consumer power can change the way that things are made, bought and sold.
