THE STORY BEHIND CORPUS
With the arrival of J. P’s first child, like any new parent, he went from “from casually checking labels to becoming almost obsessive about finding products with truly clean and safe ingredients” J.P tells us. “What I found in the market though, was disappointing and products labeled ‘natural’ were often far from it. And if they were, you had to compromise on something — whether it was the look, scent, texture, or even performance. I knew it could be done better.”
“I have a long history in the personal care industry, having run Baxter of California for over 10 years before it was acquired. My career has been deeply rooted in scent creation, product formulation and packaging design, giving me a comprehensive understanding of how to craft products that are not only effective but also elevate user experience. I knew I could apply all this experience and do something truly different—no compromises on quality, effectiveness, or aesthetics. My background gave me the tools to ensure that our products deliver on every level.”
And the name CORPUS? “That’s a great question, and funny enough, I don’t get asked it all that often! The answer is pretty simple. CORPUS is Latin for ‘body’. I wanted a name that was easy to say, easy to spell, but also had a bit of depth — a meaning that wasn’t immediately obvious but carried significance once you looked a little deeper.”

But what makes CORPUS stand out from the beauty and self care space? “Firstly, it’s our dedication to combining luxury with sustainability, without sacrificing performance. Many natural brands stick to the basics – we focus not just on product efficacy, but also the little details that make a big difference – like our thoughtfully designed packaging and our signature fragrances.”
“Next, is our approach to fragrance – and more specifically, natural fragrance. Every decision, from formulation to packaging, reflects our commitment to sustainability, ensuring that our products are not only natural but also luxurious and environmentally responsible.”
