The Cult Beauty Guide To A Big, Beautiful Blowout

You've probably spotted the big, bouncy, '70s blowout trend gracing your FYP,  Instagram stories and Pinterest boards as of late (especially from a particular Scandi-born {queen of the blowout} providing hair inspiration to the masses). But how to recreate that 'perfectly coiffed but just rolled out of bed' hair at home? Here is the Cult Beauty guide to perfect the at-home blowout because ‘the girls that get it, get it…

1. Prep That Mane:

After washing, you want to give your hair the very best chance of maintaining the perfect 'do while also keeping it as healthy as possible. {OLAPLEX} has the answer. The new {No.9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum} will leave your hair soft to the touch, shiny and so much easier to style. Apply a small amount onto damp, towel dried hair working from the tips to the roots; then style as normal.

2. Gimme That Volume:

Winner of the Harpers Bazaar Best of the Best Award for 2020, the {Rise Professional Hot Brush} from {ghd} allows for close-root contact, giving you double the volume of air-dried hair. It easily glides through all hair types, maintaining an optimum styling temperature of 185 degrees across the entire barrel, meaning you can create that perfect volumised wave or that coveted flick and curl.Start by sectioning your hair. Working with the hot brush, begin to 'flick out' the ends of your hair, alternating which way you flick each section. As you complete each section, {clip} them up and away from your face (this will help to keep your much-desired volume in place too!). Once you've reached the top, begin with the hair at the back of your head. Take a larger section of hair and hold it upwards as if you were to about backcomb, while running the hot brush over strands. Then, slowly bring that section of hair down, making sure to flick the ends. Doing this will prevent hair falling flat… nobody wants that!

Finally we come to the most important part: the bangs. You may be tempted to continue using the brush as you have been throughout your hair, but these front sections of your mane are the 'make or break' of this style. Bring your bangs together into one large section, before carefully using the hot brush in an upwards motion, rolling your hair up and away from your face. And voila you've got volume, bounce and body!

3. Texture, Texture And More Texture

Once curled and styled, you want to get that lived in, 'I woke up like this'  sexiness from your hair. That’s what OUAI Haircare's {Texturizing Hair Spray} does perfectly. Spray directly onto your roots to offer that oompf, and then all over the hair for that “slept in” chic. The nourishing ingredients of tamarin, amino acids, keratin, ama oil, jasmin and hibiscus not only help to hold your style in place, but also maintain moisture levels, repair your hair and protect it from humidity — ideal for keeping your bouffant looking imperfectly done (but undone) for longer.

4. Last But Not Least:

Finally, spritz your hair with the Gisou {Hair Perfume}. Not only will this infuse your strands with the seductive honey scent famous {Gisou} is so renowned for, but it will also help to strengthen your hair while also enriching it with a glorious, head-turning shine. Win win.
