Having no garden with which to dispose of the leftovers, he started pondering the mountains of used grounds the coffee industry produces every day... the sad truth being that we (on average) consign over 500,000 tonnes of coffee grounds to landfill in the UK every year!! A devastating statistic, and something that William - together with his sister Anna Brightman - sought to do something about.
This mission coincided with the move to banish microbeads and, voila! Their idea was born: a range of face and body scrubs (which have a conscience). On a quest to help promote a 'circular economy', William and Anna strive to source ingredients that would be otherwise discarded and transform them into natural, sustainable skin care - shining a spotlight on 'sustainability' and striving to re-shape the (wasteful) beauty industry.
Sourcing coffee grounds from over 50 London cafés to create their (heavenly-scented) scrubs, the grains are sufficiently gentle to polish without leaving skin feeling stressed, and are blended with precious plant extracts and oils to condition the skin (and invigorate senses).
