WE TRIED CHARLOTTE TILBURY’S BEAUTIFUL SKIN FOUNDATION

The undisputed queen of make up magic — Charlotte Tilburydaaaaahling, is back with another {complexion} essential. The {Beautiful Skin Foundation} has been all over our FYPs since it launched in January, and we desperately needed to get our hands on this viral foundation, to find out if it really makes our skin *more* beautiful??

a collection of 4 different shades of charlotte tilburys beautiful skin foundation and a magic cream

Created as not *just* a foundation, this glow-giving base is infused with the hydrating hero, hyaluronic acid, alongside a plethora of rose-derived ingredients to help skin hold onto water, aid in barrier repair, protect against pollution and fortify skin’s fabric. Gimme gimme gimme...

So, what do our hard-to-please editors really think of this “beautifying” foundation? a dark skinned model

"As someone who tends to lean more towards fuller, matte coverages, this formula is a really refreshing change! I love how it enhances the look of my complexion without feeling weighty or thick. It’s very lightweight and I like how it works harmoniously with the rest of my base routine. Plus, I got so many compliments on my beautiful skin.” - Precious, Junior Copywriter, wearing 16 Cool

“As I’ve got older, I’ve left the fuller coverage foundation days behind me. Dewy, lightweight skin tints are my go-to, which is why I was pleasantly surprised by this foundation. Being on the drier skin side, I love that this gives me such a luminous finish and no exaggeration, it really does make my skin look beautiful.” - Rina, Junior SEO  Copywriter, wearing shade Neutral 3

"The epitome of a 'your-skin-but-better' formula. I'm definitely a 'no make up-make up' girlie and I like my coverage to look natural but still make a noticeable difference to my complexion - this does exactly that without looking dull or oily by the end of the day! Also, the shade match was just so spot-on that I'm still impressed."- Nasreen, Midweight Copywriter, wearing shade Neutral 8

“I’m a tinted moisturiser, dewy glow and light coverage convert through and through, so tell me something’s medium coverage and I’m sceptical from the start. But have I stopped wearing this since I tried it? I have not. Will I be wearing it every day from now on? Yes, yes I will. It’s just perfect – it’s glowy and still looks like my skin, not like I’m wearing foundation. I’ve tried it with a brush which buffs it into skin and gives lighter coverage, or with my fingertips which  I think gives more of that medium finish – but it still looks super-natural, so I’m happy!” - Josie, Copy Manager, wearing shade Neutral 6

“I pushed back, I tried to fight it but it’s apparent I am in fact a Charlotte Tilbury fanatic, and Beautiful Skin manages to keep up with the Joneses. The key to unlocking the promised natural glow? If like me you’re oily and craving moisture, prep with a really hydrating base (Charlotte Magic Cream works a treat) and this skin saviour will glide on like a dream. Beautiful skin in 3, 2, 1…” - Niall, Copy Assistant, wearing Warm 4

“I must confess to being sceptical when I squirted a pump of this base on the back of my hand — it looked a bit... thick for my liking (I’m a sheer tint fangirl 4 lyf) — but, and this is a bigbut, when I started to blend it, it practically vanished! This magical formula melted without any give-away traces, leaving smooth, velvety skin in its wake. Beautifully unifying without making skin look ‘1D’, this has a believable ‘real skin’ finish that’s demi-matte but never flat like, well... your actual face. I’m hooked.” - Verity, Content Editor, wearing shade Neutral 2
