Wellness Expert Eminé Rushton’s Top 5 Natural Beauty Products

Holistic Facialist, Wellness (and Cult Beauty) Expert {Eminé Rushton} has an abundance of health and beauty experience; both through her work as 'Psychologies' magazine's Wellbeing Director, as well as her personal 'mission' to adopt an holistic, 'inside-out' approach to living. Skin and {skin care} is very much her 'thing', and Eminé is dedicated to unearthing (and sharing) the truth when it comes to what works and what doesn't, which is why we're so thrilled she's agreed to share her top five 'green' products with us (and all of you)...

MV Organic Skincare {Daily Skin Soother Booster} £60

Sometimes simple things work extraordinarily well. Almost to the point of defying logic. And more often than not, it’s because the ingredients used are of the very, very highest quality – making them noticeably efficacious – a real cut above the norm. All of {MV Organic Skincare’s} products tick this box. This lovely little booster has been in my kit for EVER – I reach for it when the winter winds kick up, the summer sun is particularly harsh, or stress has sent my skin into a sensitised state. Just a drop or two is enough for treatment (and that is very rarely the case with less intensive oils).

Tata Harper {Hydrating Floral Essence} £54

Whilst practising as a holistic facialist this beautiful essence was my go-to for two reasons. It’s 100% natural (92% organic) and filled with beautiful floral waters such as rose and lavender, but it also contains anti-inflammatory gotu kola and soothing aloe. Secondly – that INCREDIBLE smell! Every time I use it, clients smile and comment – then breath it in – a lovely oxygenating bonus! Again, it IS pricey. But it’s effective enough to use in lieu of a hydrating booster or serum (it is also high in hyaluronic acid) – multi-tasking, multi-wondrous.

Therapie {Cherish Skin Repair Serum} £46

All good and nutritious things come together in this beautiful black bottle that is dripping in skin-salving omegas and antioxidants. Baobab, argan, pumpkin seed, raspberry seed, sea buckthorn oils… all make for a deeply restorative treatment – ideal when pregnant or treating sun-damaged skin (or, let’s be honest, any time in between!).

RMS Beauty {Lip2Cheek} £28

While some of the RMS Lip2Cheek colours contain carmine – if you want to avoid it altogether (carmine is a red pigment made from powdered cochineal insect bodies), you might want to check out this shade: 'Smile' (a dreamy peachy coral with a retro vibe). A dab across cheekbones and lips feels cooling and nourishing, and the delightful colour does what it says on the tin: brings on an appreciative smile, every time! It also wears well throughout the day – despite being primarily coconut and castor oil (both wonderful skin-nourishing oils). I’ve also found that despite it being finger-applied, the pots do not go rancid, which is a great thing, because though diminutive in size, they also last a long, long time. The naturally antibacterial coconut oil, again, acts as nature’s own effective preservative here – natural beauty at its best.

de Mamiel {Seasonal Facial Oils} £70

I have met just a handful of beauty producers in my 14 years in the industry, who care as much as founder, Annee de Mamiel, cares about the quality and efficacy of her incredible products. Ingredients are painstakingly sourced, handled and even blessed with song – and the world’s purest oils are blended with cherry-picked flower essences – to balance mind, boost wellbeing, and treat skin, all at the same time. Every time you come into contact with the products, you feel something – from the scent, the textures, the impact on mood. Feel the love.
