Why Our Relationship Status Is Permanently ‘Self-Involved’

We think it’s high time we celebrate (and centre!) our longest relationship: the one we have with ourselves. Whether that means broadening the boundaries of your desires with a new {sex-tech} flame or simply exploring ways in which you can take better care of your needs.

As we do in healthy romantic and platonic relationships, it’s only right that we devote time and energy to our inner connection. How? One way is to lean into the process of pleasure. Sex and masturbation are often treated as a sprint towards the big O, when in reality there’s so much sensation to be found in foreplay. And we don’t just mean those first brushes of fingers over skin — it doesn’t even have to be physical — pleasure can build from the mind alone. Set time aside, as you would for a date, and give yourself the chance to enter a sensual headspace. A steamy soak accompanied by fragrant {bubble bath} (pH-balanced, obviously) is always a good place to start, and a luxurious {lube} will only add to your ecstasy as things heat up.

That’s not to say that intimacy with yourself is limited to pleasure. That feeling of closeness is tied to being in tune with all of your body’s wants and needs. It can be as simple as showing your skin some love when it's crying out for attention — a {gentle wash} and {exfoliating scrub} are a match made in heaven, and why not throw in a moisturising {body oil} for the ultimate massage à trois?

In short, your preferences are yours to decide. We just hope you have fun getting to know them! As for us, our relationship status' will always be: ‘self-involved’.
