Created by world renowned plastic surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides and his wife Eva, 111SKIN launched in 2012 with a single serum, quickly becoming the go-to for beauty editors, skin care obsessives and skin-savvy celebrities (we’re talking everyone from Priyanka Chopra to Margot Robbie) alike. Beginning as a beauty brand to aid in skin healing for patients undergoing plastic and reconstructive surgery, 111SKIN has grown to develop a reputation for powerful, potent potions that provide premature ageing benefits.
MEET 111SKIN’S FOUNDERS
After graduating in Athens with a degree in medicine, Dr Yannis Alexandrides crossed the Atlantic to America where he specialised in cranfio-facial, hand and microsurgery. He was then certified by not only the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), but also the ASAPS (American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), EBOPRAS (European Board of Plastic Surgery) and finally the ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), making him a highly skilled consultant able to operate worldwide. After opening clinics in Miami and Athens he settled in London, consolidating his plastic surgery skills with non-surgical and skin care services. In 2012, his wife Eva Alexandrides, who has a career in business startups, encouraged Dr Yannis to launch 111SKIN commercially with the brand’s innovative Y Therorem Repair Serum NAC Y² as the brand’s first release.
TESTED IN SPACE
In 2004, a team of biochemical engineers specialising in astronaut’s diets and lifestyles were on the hunt for a leading aesthetic surgeon to collaborate with and decided to contact Dr Yannis Alexandris to further develop their latest finding, NAC — an amino-acid and essential building block of skin. Together the group formulated the groundbreaking NAC Y² that’s infused into all 111SKIN products. This innovative ingredient was then infused with vitamin C and escin and tested on astronauts’ skin. The findings showed unanimously that NAC Y² actively combated ageing, making it literally an out-of-this-world ingredient.
