COMMODITY’S ORIGIN STORY

Beginning as a Kickstarter company with ‘try at home fitting kits’, modern perfume house Commodity burst onto the perfume space to bring innovative and customisable scents directly to consumers. The concept was founded by a group of LA-based designers who wanted to make artisanal scents more accessible— even behind a screen. In 2019 the brand was acquired by founder and president of Europerfumes— Vicken Arslanian. Through Vicken’s expertise, Commodity invented the ‘Scent Space’ concept which has solidified the brand’s standing within the aroma industry as a unique and artisan lead fragrance house that’s totally customisable to each wearer.


COMMODITY’S SCENT SPACE

Referring to a line of perfumes defined by their intensity or presence, Commodity’ signature scent space selection indicates how strong or subtle a fragrance feels when you wear it, essentially defining the scent's projection and longevity. Putting the control of projection back into the consumer’s hand the brand dreams up three versions of each fragrance – Personal, Expressive and Bold. Unlike traditional practices that increase or decrease fragrance concentration to modify projection, Commodity keeps the concentrations consistent across all three versions and instead, adds certain notes to naturally alter projection.
