MEET THE FOUNDERS

Growing up minutes from one another in Marin, California, yet never meeting, Alissa and Leslie were both fascinated by the art of fragrances – leading them to collect perfumes in tiny boxes. Viewing them as transformative treasures, they both decided to take their olfactory knowledge of one step further. While Alissa went on to train at the famed perfumery school ISIPCA in Versailles, Leslie became an artist and self-taught perfumer. Together they bonded over their passion and dreamt up Liis to create minimalist scent compositions that tell a story.

Made in California, Liis’ fragrances are crafted with a conscious. Sourcing high-quality ingredients from all over the world, the brand’s formulas are powered by organic sugarcane alcohol. Derived from sugarcane grown without harmful pesticides, this star component not only contributes to sustainable farming practices, but it is also biodegradable too, reducing the environmental footprint of the fragrance industry. What’s more, typically gentler and less irritable than synthetic alcohols, organic sugarcane alcohol is suitable for all skin types – even the most sensitive.
