MEET MUIHOOD’S FOUNDER
Charlotte Yau launched Muihood when she started seeing traditional Chinese medicine becoming a fad in Western skin care. Worried that the narrative of her culture was being diluted and turned into social media trend, she pays homage to its 3,000-year-old medical system through creating authentic, everyday essentials powered by herbal and botanical blends. With heritage at the core of all the brand’s creations, its packaging is inspired by retro Hong Kong posters and the logo is designed in Chinese calligraphy – with a modern twist.
MUIHOOD’S CHI CLEANSING BALM
Muihood’s debuting product, the Chi Cleansing Balm, was dreamt up as a memoir to Charlotte Yau’s childhood where she had a strong ritual of always making time to cleanse her face and brush her teeth. Targeting dryness, the oil-to-milk formula fuses soybean oil with goji berry and ginseng root to boost hydration, improve firmness and protect against environmental damage – all while melting away the day’s dirt and debris.
