Matte but radiant

I love the texture of this primer. It feels like a lightweight moisturiser rather than silicone like other mattifying primers. It feels hydrating and doesn't dry out my skin, again, like other mattifying primers. It completely minimises shine and oiliness but still leaves a gorgeous radiance on the skin, which I love. My skin has a slight blurred / soft-focus finish which does wonders for my pores. Overall, a stunning product!

I love it

This is my favourite primer. It leaves my skin feeling like velvet and doesn’t cake foundation when applied under. It gives my skin a lovely glow

Nice primer

I think it's a nice primer, moisturising, but not mattifying.

Lovely Scent

This works great as a makeup base. The scent reminds me of pancake batter.

Nice texture, but doesn’t do much

Okay, so my first product from Honest Beauty was a fail (the daily lightweight calming moisturizer) so that kind of gave me a bad impression about the brand and an image of the brand being a cash grab. I vowed to not try anything from the brand but I got this primer in my Cult goody bag. The primer is nice but I’m not sure if it really does anything. With or without this my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer behaves the same lol so I don’t really see a significant difference. I will say though I like the consistency of it and how it mattifies my face without it being cakey, pilling or stripping my skin if it’s natural oils. Not sure about my makeup lasting longer but I really do appreciate that it doesn’t pile as that drives me crazy and it doesn’t break up my tinted moisturizer or make it cakey. It gives my tinted moisturizer a beautiful base to lay on.

Meh..

I love the Honest Beauty range and was very excited to try this. I have oily, acne-prone skin and always on the look out for a matte primer. I like the fact this doesn't feel like silica and it does feel tacky so a good grip for foundation but that is it! It doesn't keep you matte, maybe for me about an hour or two at a push. So disappointed :(

Doesn't work for long

I wanted so much for this product to be effective in what it's supposed to be doing (mattifying my complexion for all day long) as it has a lovely consistency of a light moisturiser so very different to the usual primers, but unfortunately, after 2-3 hours my t-zone was back to its shiny look. So with regret, I won't be using it any more.

I love the product

It will make your skin matte (!) - so I only put it in my T zone, and it will stay for the whole day and night. Makeup will go perfectly on top of it. I will use more hydrating/glowing products for the rest of the face to get the perfect complexion.

On the fence with this one...

I’ve worn this primer a few times now so I could experiment with different foundations on top and different moisturisers underneath. I’m on the fence. It’s very matte. To the point where there is absolutely no natural sheen coming through whatsoever and it actually makes my foundation look flat and also a little cakey as the day goes on. On the plus side, I don’t need to blot or powder my face at all during the day, which is pretty impressive as my face is quite oily. I think this would work nicely for really oily skin with maybe a ‘luminous’ foundation on top. I might dig it out again as the weather gets warmer and more humid and give it another chance.
