Sometimes, we all need to go back to basics to improve our make up looks and Laura Merciers Eye Basics is the perfect way to do so. The unique, versatile cream primes lids to create the perfect canvas for any eye look wear it as a primer under powder to create a uniform base, help prevent creasing, extend colour wear and enhance how colours pop on your lid, or wear it alone as a foundation for lids to camouflage imperfections and discolouration. Providing medium coverage, the creamy, lightweight texture blends easily and wont slide off lids, creating a long-lasting, water-resistant and crease-free finish. Botanicals and other skin-friendly ingredients help soothe and protect the delicate skin of your lids. There are six shades to choose from use Peach for brightening and lightening or Eyebright to tone down purple and pink tones, or pick from the rest of the shades to suit your skin tone.

Disappointingly dry formula
Sadly this product isn't for me. I had expected a texture similar to a face primer, however this product was heavy, dry and difficult to blend onto the eye lid area.

Holds well
I did a really extensive research online to be able to pick the right colour/tone and eventually opted for Flax because Linen was sold out.I was planing to wear it on it's own just as a nude toned eyeshadow for no-makeup days because my eyelids are slightly pinky.The wear is great, it holds well because my eyelids can get a bot oily and this matifies them. The colour wheat was supposed to have a little bit of sparkle compared to the other colours but it's nearly invisible.Sadly this colour looks way too ashy on me but I will keep it in my makeup kit for when I am paler in winter time and as an eyeshadow base.

A "can't leave without" for me
Since I discovered that product 5 years ago, I've been using it everyday without a fail. This is an essential in my routine This helps your eye makeup to stay in place, and my mascara hasn't smudged under my eyes anymore. You know those stains you get in the second part of the day.. those! GONE For a light makeup on holidays I just apply this base with a mascara. I always buy the lighter shade (Linen) so it brighten up the eyes. Even when you look tired, that will make you look fresh. A magical little product that last long as you don't need to use much. Love it

Too dry to use
The product was too dry to use from my first try. It was hard to spread and the finish looked sort of "loose", like something would come off soon. I also think the shade (linen) was quite a bit lighter in natural light than on the picture.
