It’s a cold winter morning in 1971 Chamonix, France. Rain is hammering against the windows as you draw a blanket closer around you – warmed by the fire and its unmistakeably inviting crackle.
Perfectly androgynous, the Replica By The Fireplace Eau De Toilette is a snapshot in time – a bottled memory of ‘burning wood and chestnut’, made with fruity, spicy, sharp top notes of pink pepper, orange flower petals and clove oil. Like a pile of fresh firewood, the scent boasts earthy, heady middle notes of chestnut accord, gaïac wood oil and cade oil – balanced with sweet base notes of vanilla accord, Peru balsam and cashmeran, like toasted marshmallows in front of a dancing flame. Heavy - best for layering
So far I have mostly enjoyed the perfume when mixed with lighter fragrances like Vanilla 28, Vanilla Skin or Yum Pistachio Gelato. This makes the perfume smell sweeter and less heavy. However, it's too heavy for my tastes on its own. It's a going-out fragrance if you wear it on its own because it's so strong. It's too suffocating to wear it alone at home. But wearing it out and about is more tolerable. I'm a little disappointed because the marshmallow note I liked in the perfume when I sampled it on paper in store isn't as strong on my skin unless I mix it with other fragrances. This is a reminder to test your perfumes on your skin rather than a testing strip. On its own, there is a stong barbecue note, that almost smells of barbecue sauce and it's not pleasant to wear. I can understand why other people have said it's something you want to smell but not smell like. On its own, it probably smells better as a room spray or candle I can get a good 6+ hours if I layer this fragrance and it does project.

Beautiful, I absolutely love this scent.
This reminds me of toasting fluffy marshmallows by a bonfire, I love the bonfire smoky hit and then the sweet yummy scent hits you, it’s so lovely, I find one spray is enough for me, this lasts me all day, I spray it downwards over my hair and body and it lasts all day, it just reminds me of winter which I love!

If you love complex vanilla scents this is the one for you. It’s not sickly like the typical vanilla fragrances, it’s more mature and comforting.
