An effective antidote to pesky blemishes, MALIN + GOETZ’ Salicylic Gel is a hardworking formula packed with spot-reducing and calming ingredients to help diminish pimples without causing irritation or excessive dryness.
Star of the show is BHA (beta hydroxyl acid) salicylic acid, which penetrates the interior walls of pores to unclog and clear impurities, delivering visibly improved skin clarity. Working in tandem with salicylic acid, lactic acid exfoliates dead cells from the skin’s surface, removing blemish-causing impurities, dirt and excess oil while improving skin texture. The welcome addition of witch hazel ensures oil production levels are balanced, while calming lavender keeps irritation at bay and hydrating panthenol ensures skin does not become overly dry. Completely useless, not worth the money.
I've been using salicylic acid for years, with serums from various brands, mostly cheap and available in Superdrug. I splashed out on this, I wanted to treat myself and see if more expensive equals better - for me at least, this gel is completely ineffective. It doesn't work, at all. It doesn't appear to help with the small blackheads I get around my temples, or with bigger breakouts... at all... no effect whatsoever. If anything it seems to make my bigger breakouts worse. I have gone back to using a cheap serum from Revolution, which I would recommend to anybody. I have no idea whats wrong with this gel or why people like it - completely baffling.

Useful & Effective!
This is great for when you localised and stubborn breakouts, especially if you want to focus on certain areas rather than the whole face but. Its gell means even if you have had a large more spread across the face breakouts it's easy to apply. I found for me whilst I was still waiting to restart my laser hair removal on my face post-summer and early autumn travel meant sun exposure this helped target those annoying breakouts I get around the beard area these last few weeks (luckily my wait is nearly up and my stubble got another round of that beautiful laser coming).

But not the most effective product I've used. Pills if you try to put makeup over the top which is a shame. It works overnight well though.

My secret weapon
I’m not usually breakout prone, but once a month without fail I’ll end up with a smattering of inconvenient blemishes over my cheeks and chin and always inevitably around the time of an event. This gel is both soothing but powerful and super effectively helps to clear these breakouts as quickly as possible - I wouldn’t be without it in my stash now!
