Harnessing the healing potency of Africa’s night-blooming baobab flowers, alongside ‘The Queen of the Night’ – jasmine grandiflorum – hand-picked at dusk, this stunning oil-serum is ideal for hormonal, mature or confused complexions; neutralising the harmful effects of everyday exposure to pollutants and UV, while fortifying the skin barrier to boost resilience.
An exotic cocktail of indigenous, African desert and bush plants have been distilled into Fleurs d’Afrique – a super-charged, featherweight oil that absorbs within seconds to nurture, protect and re-balance dry, oily and acne-prone skin types. Incredibly concentrated, this yellow gold elixir overflows with free radical-fighting antioxidants (essential for city dwellers), alongside cell-stimulating and elasticising extracts of damask rose, immortelle flower, CoQ10 and the brand’s unique ‘African Oil Complex’, which forms a powerful essential fatty acid matrix to prevent and ‘undo’ existing signs of stress – from fine lines and wrinkles to blemishes, dark spots, redness and lost firmness. You skin is left luminous, with improved clarity, vitality and strength.

saved my skin
I love all the products I tried from African Botanics. I bought this after my holiday because my skin was acting up, new blemishes every day, scaring, an overall complexion I never had in summer at least. It really really helped balance my skin out, like it said it would. It also gives me a nice glow to wake up to in the morning. Even my bf asked what I'm doing, that something is different with my skin.

The scent of a goddess
I absolutely love this scent and wish African Botanics would make a perfume. That being said I just read a review here that was very similar to my experience and knew I just had to speak out. When I got the trial sizes of this oil when it very first came out it was mindblowing. My skin had amazing transformations. I thought it was the holy grail. But now that I have my very own bottle when I use this and wake up in the morning my face is red. Sometimes if I make my room freezing cold it doesn't do this but most the time it does. Is my skin just sensitive? Are the trial sizes less potent? If I didn't love the scent and packaging so much I probably wouldn't use this at all (not to mention the money I spent on it). Now I like the Fleurs Cream as well but I only have it in trial size. It's amazing and doesn't make me red and only gives me benefits. But I'm scared to try the full product and have it go downhill again.

The scent is entrancing
The first night I used it, immediately upon waking up my skin was amazing. I thought I had finally found the one. Now that I have the full bottle, I don't see the same difference I did that very first night. In fact sometimes I wake up and my skin is slightly red. I'm not sure if it's just me getting hot when I sleep though. But the beautiful scent is still a lullaby. I need to use it more consistently to know if it was just a placebo effect or not, but I find myself skipping some nights in an anxiety induced effort to save as much product as possible because it is so expensive.

The best
I am a huge fan of African Botanics. Everything I have tried I have seen noticeable results quickly. This oil is one of my favourites from the brand, although it is difficult to choose one. It is a relatively lightweight oil, which is easily absorbed & good for layering with other products. I layer this over the Cell Recovery Serum in an evening & wake up to bright, hydrated & clear skin. With CoQ10, Vitamin C, and Retinol, anti-ageing ingredients I look for in skincare & housed in a dark glass bottle to protect the ingredients, it's definitely a re-purchase for me.

Ok, but not really up to it's price
I held back on purchasing this for a while, and then succumbed with a full size freebie on the clay cleanser (which is very good). It's not that there is anything particularly or horribly wrong with this, it just doesn't really seem to warrant the price in my opinion when I compare to some other oils I own and have used. It is a light, golden oil with a subtle, earthy jasmine scent which I quite enjoy. However, whilst it is light I do find it leaves a greasy film on my skin, and I'd be hard pressed to wear this during the day. I also don't think it feels like it sinks in deeply enough to act as a moisturiser on it's own. Bit of a strange combo really, light but still a bit greasy, but doesn't quite cut the moisturising mustard for me. Anyway, I won't repurchase personally, and I'd probably recommend anyone considering maybe opts for trying the intensive recovery balm; which is way more effective and versatile in my opinion (and just lasts forever!)

Dangerously good
This has a lovely earthy Jasmine scent, and is so light that it sinks into your skin like butter on hot toast. I kicked off trialing this on a recent 12-hour flight to Japan, which gave me ample chance to test it on my boyfriend and fellow passengers too. The general consensus was that it's really moisturising without feeling like you are wearing anything. We all came off the flight missing that usual grey pallor you get from long-haul travel and my skin felt much less papery than it normally does. Over the next few weeks I really came to look forward to using this in the mornings and evenings. After a good double cleanse I found it's punchy enough to do the moisturising job on it's own without my normal topper. My skin was less red around my nose and under-eye and springs back well after the pinch test so it kept the elasticity in check after a month. NO dry flakiness at all on my cheeks, which is rare. Fleurs d'Afrique's jasmine scent isn't a cloying sweet version, this is one that can easily be worn by men or women. The bottle is incredibly convenient for travel and the pipette efficient so not a drop is wasted. There's no other way of saying it, this is bloody expensive, but if you are looking to treat your skin, avoid synthetics and get real anti-ageing results this will deliver.
