So disappointed
I was so excited to get this palette when it first came out, and tried so hard to like it but it's just too much work. The mattes are incredibly pigmented so a light hand is essential, but even then they don't blend too well and it's easy to go overboard. The duo chromes sealed over the second I touched them with a dry finger, and they're now almost impossible to use without crumbling them up with a mixing medium or fix plus. Maybe I got a bad batch of those but I've heard similar things from a lot of people about those two shades. The responses from Norvina and Anastasia herself have actually put me off the brand slightly; I don't like the condescending nature of being told I'm using a product wrong when I am using it as instructed and in actual fact it's just a bad product (or at least there are bad batches in circulation). I think they tried very hard to make something different and innovative but it flopped massively for me.

So disappointed
Bought this pallet without looking at reviews as Anastasia's last pallet modern renaissance I fell in love with. I had so much confidence in it, bought it and then tried it out. Colours are very pigmented which is beautiful about the pallet but blending the colours are shocking its really bad that they thought that this should be sold like this, I feel it is very messy and I'm just so disappointed.

Meh
I bought it last week. It's so powdery, so much fall out. I think I still have the old version of the palette. But the pigmentation is good. Not that difficult to blend. But definitely not a palette for a beginner.

Make your own choice!
I ordered this palette before watching the reviews, when I eventually watched them, I was terrified for the palette to arrive. However, after using it, I feel like it was drama over perhaps a bad batch/samples they have been sent. I ADORE this palette so much. Hardly any fall out. Little pressure is needed and you only need to tap ONCE to get so much pigment. Unique, beautiful colours. Perfect for those who are already comfortable with applying eyeshadow. Please do not let the reviews on YouTube make your decision for you. I'm so glad I bought it.

Pretty, but doesn't work at all
It's such a beautiful palette, I wanted it to work so badly but nothing blends and the colours almost fight each other on your eye. So disappointed because I love the modern Renaissance palette. Maybe they will relaunch it with a better formula and I will buy it again but for now it doesn't work.

Really disappointing
Absolutely stunning colours but huge fallout and difficult to blend. I haven't been heavy handed but the palette is very powdery and I suspect will fall apart at the slightest provocation.

Is it worth it? YES
A great colour selection which gives you the freedom to create a ton of unique looks. Pro's : - Pigmented - make sure you apply small amounts at first then gradually build up the intensity. A little goes a long way. - Colour selection - get to know the colours, how they pair with other shades & move out of your comfort zone. - Wear - similarly to the MR palette, these shades perform well on the lid and last all day. I use concealer to prime my lids. - Blendability - these shades blend well so long as you start off with little product and build up. Cons : - Brushes - imo the darker shades apply better with smaller, dense brushes. Applying with a larger, fluffy brush makes it harder to blend out. - Certain shades look different in the pan than when they're applied i.e. destiny and mercury - Learn your way around the palette. It takes time to see how each shades applies on the lid and more importantly, how they pair with other shades. Be sparing when applying the deeper shades as they can be trouble if you go in with a heavy hand. A great sister palette to the MR, I am impressed. This palette has been quite the controversy and rather than form a negative review based on what other people have said, try this palette for yourself. See how it works for you, learn new ways to use the palette in terms of shades and application.

***I have bought this palette without checking the reviews on the internet. Once I have read a few reviews (some of them quiet alarming), I came to regret my purchase before even receiving it. Once my order arrived, I tested the item and my first reaction was "not that bad at the end!". The palette is supposed to have a massive fall out due to the composition (Talc mainly). For those who already own a Tarte Cosmetic's palette (mainly composed of talc/mica as well), you have come to realise that it is not that big of an issue. One just needs to tap the brush to get rid of the excess before applying on the lids (and make sure to apply your foundation at the end). On top of that, not all of them are that "powdery". It also depends on which brush you are using. A blending brush will produce more fall out than a shader one. But yes, I have to say that All Star is a disaster xD! It definitely turns darker after application, and fade away as soon as I tried to blur it (best to avoid this one)! On the other hand New wave, Edge, Dawn, Roxy and Untamed are fabulous. Also, Electric and Cube don't have fall out at all. Good to know: better use a primer AND a neutral eye shadow before using the palette. If wet, the product will set in and turn darker. So 3 stars it is, because all the shade are very well pigmented and that they are fantastic for the winter season (big crush for New Wave and Edge) but I think that it should not be that complicated to use a palette.***
