The smell

The smell of the product is too bad

Does the job...sort of...

Recently I developed eczema on the back of my neck into my hairline from the humid weather and my current shampoo irritated it further. This looked like the solution being fragrance-free. I have naturally curly hair which is fine with a silky texture so need a deeper clean. It doesn’t lather and I have to use loads and my hair still doesn’t feel completely clean once rinsed out. But it didn’t irritate my skin.

Meh.

This is an ok shampoo. For reference, I have 3c-4a hair. This is not the sort of shampoo you can use weekly if your hairs are curly - its definitely for clarifying (hence the chelating agent in the ingredients) but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Have you ever used a soap that's so stripping your hands LITERALLY feel squeaky clean? That's how my hands felt after I rinsed off this shampoo, so you can imagine how dry my hair was. I did pre-poo beforehand and I slapped a rinse-out conditioner on my hair immediately after washing it out. Surprisingly, my hair wasn't knotted/ matted after using this (which is what usually happens when I use a clarifying shampoo) - but that could just be down to the rinse out conditioner I used. Overall, "meh." Briogeo as a whole is not a brand catered for curly/ kinky hair in my opinion, despite being black-owned.
