It's very gentle. It fits my sensitive skin (I have dermatitis). Retinol is a must have in your evening routine. If you're only starting to use retinol I would recommend this product. I tried a couple of other retinol products before this one, but the Cerave retinol was the only one where I noticed a visible difference.
