Designed with a paddle brush, this smudge and budge-proof mascara is powered by a wand with diamond-shaped bristles to fan out each individual lash. 1. Hold the brush horizontally and use the flat side to push upwards and coat the lashes.
2. Twist the wand and brush through with the diamond-bristled side to lift and comb each individual lash from root to tip for full, fanned-out lashes.
3. Wiggle the bristles from side to side, base to tip, to separate, lift and define the lashes. Use the wand vertically to stroke upwards and precision paint the lashes in the inner and outer corners.
4. Turn the brush vertically and paint bottom lashes individually.

Lovely colour

Makes green eyes pop!
If you want to try coloured mascara but feel intimidated start with this. The shade is an incredible vivid burgundy that makes green eyes pop. I just wish it didn't smudge but it won't stop me from repurchasing.

Fab mascara but ……
I was desperate fir this mascara so I come from a semi converted stand point. I do love and it glides on beautifully. It feels almost creamy. It build really easily and frankly I don’t think you need more than two coats. It is not clumpy. I like the wand although you need to practise using it :-). However I don’t like using lash curlers and this tends to drag my lashes down a little. Honestly it’s fab, but not 5* for me. Leaves a little residue under my eyes after a long day. I’m being picky because it is great! X

I really don't like the colour of this mascara
I didn't realise that this was brown mascara when I bought it. However, it looks even worse on my eyes which are brown. It actually looks pink in the light and makes my eyes look sore.

OK, not my favourite
I have a LOT of mascaras, I take the look and condition of my lashes very seriously, as my eyes are probably my best feature and I'm lucky enough to have long, thick lashes naturally, although they are straight and a little curl resistant. Long story short, for me, this is definitely not something I would buy again. Saying all that, I purchased this after seeing beauty articles raving about this and thought it'd be interesting to try the chocolate/burgundy colour of this. Unfortunately for me, the colour of this, being lighter than my natural lashes, did not show up well and did nothing for my deep brown eyes. I ended up giving away the Pillow Talk black mascara I bought ages ago because I personally found other mascaras in the price bracket performed better, and those issues are still present, and perhaps some are a little worse, with this one. Firstly, it clumps. Easily. You can actually see that in the 2nd photo used above - I'm not sure it's the formula or not, because that brings me onto issue two, the brush. It's certainly unique, being a diamond shaped flat paddle with very short 'bristles' and I personally (again, others may not experience the issues I have) found it incredibly difficult to apply uniformly, if the angle is even slightly off you end up swiping huge blobs of the mascara from the flat sides over your lashes that is very difficult to brush through. I tend to use the 'wiggle then twirl' method when applying to add more lift, you absolutely can't do that with this product. Lastly, the lifting effect. The original Pillow Talk mascara was only my second lifting mascara and I've since found others which provide for me, with thick, resistant to curl lashes, a much more dramatic effect. Looking at other reviews this seems more suited to blue/green eyes, and it really is a very pretty shade, but it's not for me. I expect that if your lashes are naturally lighter than this it would look better than used on dark/black lashes like mine. However, the colour is the ONLY point of comparison with other mascaras I would use to recommend to others, as I covered above, this does not perform better than others in the price range so unless you particularly wanted it for the colour then I would suggest looking elsewhere.
