Good foundation

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

The quality of this foundation is good and it looks so smooth and radiant.  I highly recommend this foundation for those who have dry and combination skin.

Best foundation I’ve ever used.

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I am a makeup lover. I’ve tried easily over fifty foundation/skin makeup products, from foundations, tinted moisturisers, BB creams…you name it. I feel like I’ve been looking forever for that “perfect” foundation, trying one “holy grail” foundation after another, only to be disappointed. This might have been because of my skin type-I get told that I have nice skin without makeup, but I have some enlarged pores, areas of discolouration and hyperpigmentation that I like to conceal. I also have sensitive skin, prone to breakouts and weird dry/oily patches if some ingredient in the foundation is irritating. So a good number of skin makeup actually makes my skin look worse. Suffice it to say, difficult to find a good foundation for.  That was, until I found this one. It gives an incredibly natural finish, of skin that looks “natural”, never looking flat or cakey. It has probably light to medium coverage-darker spots and freckles will show through, but it doesn’t matter because the end result is just such incredible looking skin. This makes me look like I was born with porcelain skin. Not makeup-just really, really nice natural skin. I get so many compliments and people who just stare at my face whenever I put this on. In addition-it doesnt make my skin break out. If anything, my skin actually feels incredibly smooth and soft when I wash it off at night-and I’ve been feeling my skin is gradually looking better without makeup when I use this regularly. So skincare benefits are real.  I’m writing this review so that I can persuade people to try this. It’s not for those who like the full glam powdery matte skin looks. But if you enjoy looking like you were just born with 200% better skin, do not give this one a miss.  I find that this foundation applies beautifully regardless of tool, but if you want to see the full potential of this product, use it with the CDP foundation brush (the flat one). I know it’s expensive, but it’s leagues cheaper than my collection of 10+ foundations which are just sitting in my drawer collecting dust now.

Average foundation, very very over priced!

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I found this foundation sadly underwhelming. I generally have good skin and don’t need to use a primer. When I use this foundation it accentuates my pores so so badly! (which has never been noticeable when using other foundations). I didn’t find the finish radiant or dewy, it was rather dull and flat. I also didn’t find it concealed any slight blemish on the skin or soften fine lines. I love this brand’s skincare but this foundation is just not great. For it’s price and from this brand I would expect a far better product.

This long lasting foundation has been my new favourite. It’s very natural so you will still need concealer for coverage. It’s the kind of foundation if you want the “no make up look”.

Very expensive foundation

Cle De Peau is a really good foundation, no doubt. But, it is no better then others I have tried at less than half the price. If it was say £40.00 I would think it superb. It's good but not THAT good.

Gorgeous natural looking skin

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

The coverage is the perfect light to medium that I adore to even out my skin tone without looking too heavy or made up. It lasts well and doesn’t crease or separate on my skin. I did notice that a few of the pores on my nose were slightly more prominent when wearing this so I opt for a smoothing primer on this area to ensure that my skin looks even all over. I don’t know what the scent is, but this foundation takes me back to when I was a child and I would sneakily steal and apply my mum's makeup and hope she wouldn’t notice (she always did).

High maintenance foundation to match the price!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

As a complete makeup lover (especially all things base), I was beyond excited to try this foundation. Just the packaging and feel of this foundation alone, I had such high hopes! In the morning I washed, cleansed my face, and applied all my usual serums, and finished with my moisturiser. Controversially, I'm not a massive primer lover, I believe the key to your foundation lasting all day is a clean face, using the skincare products that work best with your skin, oh and good application. I started applying the foundation with a synthetic Morphe brush (M536 which I normally love) and to my absolute horror, the foundation was not settling on my skin? I was merely pushing the product around my face... THEN ...it started peeling all over. It honestly looked like a bad prosthetic makeup job gone very wrong. Completely shocked, 1. being of the price point and 2. because I could not believe how badly it peeled. The term "A bad workman blames his tools" came to mind, and the next day I tried again, this time I took out my beloved vitamin C serum... only because the serum I use is new in my routine, so I was thinking maybe it was the serum? As I had not really worn makeup with this serum underneath before? I also swapped the brush to a real hairbrush and a beauty blender. What a difference. The foundation applied so smoothly and was just giving the most gorgeous finish. This was more like it. Loved everything about it, and what I found loving the most was the shade (I have shade BF40) I actually swatched my other foundations to compare, and it's just the most perfect medium/golden tone with no orangeness- my other foundation's shade I have do not compare!! Oh, and the staying power.... BEST I HAVE EVER TRIED. Knocks all my other foundations out the park. If you have a similar experience with this foundation or any foundation, in fact, I encourage you to try different ways to make the foundation work! As for the price point, if you enjoy indulging in expensive foundations then I could not recommend this more!

Such a natural finish

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

When shopping for a new foundation I look for a buildable coverage, natural finish, and longevity (combination skin type, with an oily t zone), and this ticked all 3 boxes for me! The foundation blends into the skin beautifully (even without a primer) and just one pump covered all of my redness/pigmentation. I've been wearing this with a little bit of my Charlotte Tilbury powder along my T zone and it still looks great at the end of the day! I've only knocked off a star due to the price point. Obviously, Clé De Peau is a luxury brand but I've tried other foundations that perform just as well without the high price point.
