gouaches for the face!
these trigger the inner playful artist in me. I love them, they're super opaque if you want them to, but surprisingly bendable if needed. they do eventually set down and won't budge. start small, with thin layers at a time, until you come to grips with the techniques to apply and blend them, and you'll have a blast. I use them as liners, one and done eyeshadows, bases for other colours, under the eye gloss (they hardly crease with a gloss on top!), as cheek and lip colours... you can mix the shades and get completely custom ones... it's like an art supply but for your face :)

Makeup artist staple
I adore these, start with a tiny drop and build up. You need to work quickly as these do dry fast and as the name suggests they are a matte texture. But they are pigmented, water resistant, smudge proof, multi use (amazing as shadow, eyeliner, blush, lipsticks) and pairs amazingly with a gloss, oil, foundation or moisturizer if you want a different texture or effect.
