Game changing make up!
I adore this Danessa Myricks balm powder, it’s been a game changer for me. I’m 40 and have combination skin, prone to break outs (still!) and can get dry patches from Tretinoin use. I struggle with texture and oiliness. This balm works wonders. It’s not the most pigmented (I use shade 2) but it provides such a smooth base that almost neutralises my oils throughout the day. I do add concealer on top, as I have blemishes and scarring that need fuller coverage but concealer goes on top so well and stays put. During winter, when the air is drier, I don’t feel the need to powder on top of this balm as it turns to a powder-like substance once on the skin. I use my fingers to blend in, haven’t tried it with a brush or sponge. On work days I put my make up on around 6:30am and it still looks good when I get home around 7pm. I don’t have time for touch ups throughout the day so this is great for me. Highly recommend.

Nice, but the smell took off two stars
I saw a few reviews saying the chemical or silicone smell was super strong, and it's absolutely true. As soon as I put it on, I can smell it, and the smell lingers all day and it's so strong it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. For that reason I wouldn't repurchase. I applied this with either a brush or my fingers and it goes on fine, I'm trying to sort out a few patchy areas by experimenting with different skincare.

Works well over foundation
I have very oily skin ( like eyes sting from oils if I don’t wear make up) and I have been wearing this on it’s own ( need tap/dab motion rather than blending/rubbing otherwise it doesn’t work!)- it does go quite greasy at the end of the day on it’s own but still good. I tried over a cc cream the other day and it looks amazing! It really keeps oil away without looking matt.

Tried this with a brush and it was very streaky but applying with fingers gives a beautiful effect. Skin is blurred and through the day natural oils peeking through gives a glow and not oily. A lot of product! But overall a good product, just takes some time to work it in. Skin prep is key

I joined everyone else it seems and ordered this Balm Powder after seeing it on Instagram. I can't begin to say how much I love it. Since getting this I've not used my normal foundation during the day and this does a really lovely job of smoothing out my complexion and evening it up. I also use a touch of concealer where needed. It lasts so well and I would even say that it improves throughout the day. My complexion looks even better when I've looked in the mirror around midday! It's so long lasting that I can feel it roll off when I cleanse at night. One important thing for me is that I scoop out the tiniest amount and dot it on my face before blending with fingers or a brush. I wouldn't choose to put a brush directly onto the product in the pot as I think it'd use too much and would also risk getting fine hairs and dust into the product. I'm a typical Light Medium and a keen user or Monica Blunder shade Drei. In the Danessa Myricks Balm I have a shade 3 but could also go to a 4 for a bit more colour as it's very forgiving and blends beautifully.

I’ve been using erborian BB cream for a long time but found it hasn’t been staying on my skin recently and I saw a review for this and had to try. Initially I applied with a brush and thought I’d made a terrible mistake because it was really heavily streaked on my skin and when I tried to blend with a damp blender it just came off. However, when you just do skincare first, ensure it’s completely sunk in and apply this with a lightly damp sponge it’s amazing. My skin is combination and it matts the oil and doesn’t cling in dry patches. I’ve just been on holiday in 30+ degrees and wearing this and it didn’t budge. Definitely recommend!
