The worst purple conditioner I’ve used...

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

This literally DOESN’T WORK. I have salon bleached hair and I have used this product multiple times to try and keep on top of brassiness. I first used it in the shower, on wet, shampooed hair for 10 minutes. Nothing happened. I then tried using it on dry hair to see if it would work better but again it did not work. I am so disappointed and I will be sticking to brands I trust. I’m confused as to how and why this product has good reviews. Not worth your money. Save £10 and buy a cheaper but way better purple shampoo/conditioner.

Redheads beware!

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

Having looked at a selection of colour depositing conditioners I decided to use the red option of the Alchemic range. Big mistake!! It is not red (it’s pink) and it neither enhanced nor nourished my auburn hair. It’s like, more like a paste than a thick conditioner, making it very difficult to spread evenly. It also gave my hair a cerise pink tint as opposed to enhancing my red hair. If you are redhead, do your research and unless pink hair is what you are aiming for, avoid!!!

Maintains dye but can feel dry

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I use this to maintain the bronze dye in my hair and leaves a lovely ashy brown colour and prevents it from turning a warmer colour as it normally would do on darker Asian hair. However, my hair is naturally curly and at a long length and I often find it to dries out my hair and gets tangled after wash so pair it with a curly Aveda conditioner

Great product

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Really took the brassiness out of my hair and ashy highlights were back to how the were when I came out the hairdresser. It smells lovely too and doesn’t dye your hands like other brands I’ve tried. Definitely worth a go.

Better than expected!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have both the copper and red colours. Both a great for my needs. The red is a much brighter pigment than the copper but using both gives me the colour I’m looking for. I would also say the red would be perfect for any blondes looking for a temporary pink hit! Perhaps a little drying if used alone but I either mix for follow up with my Redken conditions. Overall I’d definitely recommend- it also last for quite a while so good value for money

Alchemic shampoo in brunette

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I love Davines products but this product is pretty so-so. It maintains my colour pretty well but my hair feels dry and unconditioned after application and wash. I’d say the shampoo counterpart is a 5/5: Considering the price of the product, I was pretty disappointed.

The ultimate balayage reviver

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is the perfect toning conditioner for in-between salon visits. I love the way that it brings life back to my dulling balayage while smoothing my tangled tresses! I use the shade Golden in both the conditioner and the Alchemic Shampoo once every fortnight to keep my colour honey-hued and glossy.

Game Changer

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This conditioner is a game changer for me as far as purple shampoo/conditioner goes. I tend to find purple shampoos I've used in the past to be drying on my already dry and processed hair, and other purple conditioners don't do much to combat the brassy tones that comes through in my almost white highlighted hair. I have found I don't need to use purple shampoo when using this conditioner and that makes me really happy! I agree with Sarah's review saying the trick is to leave it on for a couple of hours or overnight to get the maximum effect. I usually leave on for 2-3 hours and it sorts my tone right out. My hair is really soft after, takes half the time to dry than it normally would, plus an added bonus that it smells amazing! I won't be switching any time soon. Thanks Davines!
