Davines' Alchemic Shampoo is a beautiful hair cleanser that enhances your colour while leaving your locks shining like patent leather. Davines is truly Italian both in quality and pizazz. By combining high-grade natural ingredients with first-rate scientific rigour the Bollati family has expanded its Parma research lab into an international, environmentally friendly hair care business.
Scientists at Davines distilled pure colour pigments and added them to precious creams to create the colour depositing Alchemic shampoo, which can be used to enhance both natural and coloured hair. This hardworking hair cleanser helps maintain colour between salon visits and enriches it with vibrant tones, all the while providing internal strength, protection and shine. Available in 'Silver Fox' for light/ash blondes and grey hair to bring down any brassiness, 'Golden Blond' to bring warmth and depth to honeyed blonds, 'Chocolate' to add a warm richness to Brunettes and 'Red' to add fire to auburn to redheads.

Tangle alert!!!
I love Davines but I'm not a fan of this (or the conditioner version). I bought the silver shampoo and conditioner. If you try to lather your hair it knots really badly! My hair is short (chin length), I was surprised how much my hair tangled. I don't know how it messed my hair up so bad! The colour isn't noticeable, I've used better silver shampoos. If you are going to try this, be careful if you try to lather your hair!! I also found that my hair became greasy a lot quicker when I used this shampoo (probably because I couldn't lather my hair)

Fantastic
I have long fine hair in good condition but it has been previously bleached and does not hold pigment well. Whilst colour conditioners work (including the Davines chocolate) I've been looking for a shampoo to enhance the colour daily. This is fantastic, it helps keep the brown pigment without being too copper or golden (a problem I've had with other brands). It foams up well and leaves my hair soft and silky with a beautiful shine. I use the colour conditioner once per week and just my usual conditioner each day with the shampoo. Perfect!

SILVER
Very good shampoo. Helps to rid out of yellowish undertones, smell very nice, doesn’t leave dry hair like most of purple shampoos. During rinsing you can already feel your hair is moisturised.

Golden shampoo and conditioner
Love it! I have naturally dark blonde hair which I'm going back to after lightening my hair for many years. This shampoo and conditioner has toned down the lighter lengths of my hair and brought out the natural colours in my roots. I was worried that it wouldn't suit my hair (dry lengths and roots that are easily overloaded by conditioner) but it's made it hydrated and shiny without being weighed down. Brilliant.

Honey blonde hair
I bought the blonde shampoo and conditioner from this range. My hair is natural dark blonde with dyed peroxide blonde highlights and after a few washes this changed my hair colour to more darker honey/yellow blonde colour rather than the white/peroxide blonde I pay for my hair to be. I didn't like the effect so I had to use lightening shampoos to reverse the change. However, I'd say if you have all over natural blonde hair or you do actually want a dark honey shade of blonde then this does actually work well. CULT BEAUTY reply: I'm sorry to hear you are disappointed with your purchase. For hair that's a peroxide white colour I would highly recommend using the Silver Fox colour to maintain light, cooler tones.

Disappointed
After trying a few other Davines products that turned out even better than expected I decided to give this and the matching conditioner a shot. I have dark brown hair so picked up the chocolate brunette one. While shampooing my hair is usually a little knotty but nothing that a bit of finger combing doesn't sort out. After shampooing with this my hair was in an awful state and took me a really long time to comb out the knots before conditioning. The second time I tried it with my normal shampoo first which helped a bit, but I was still left with a knotty tangle and found that when dry my hair tangled up quicker than it usually does. I used it three times over a week along with the matching conditioner and didn't notice any difference to the colour of my hair, and the only actual difference it made to my hair was leave it feeling dryer and more prone to knotting than usual. Unfortunately this stuff won't be coming near my hair again =(
