Ideal for all those who're already acquainted with the wonders of retinol (this can trigger irritation and peeling if your skin is sensitive, or if you're new to the retinol realm), Drunk Elephants game-changing A-Passioni Retinol Cream is the perfect addition to your evening-time routine.
A powerhouse complex, this potent, silicone-free formulation of 1% retinol boasts comforting and nourishing ingredients (passionfruit, apricot, kale, winter cherry extracts, skin-firming peptides and essential fatty acids), to give lazy skin cells a boot up their bottoms! This product means business - promoting skin renewal and boosting collagen production while reducing depth of wrinkles and improving signs of damage - and with continual use, it rejuvenates cells to reveal aber vibrant, revitalised skin. Like the rest of the Drunk Elephant range, Tiffany advises that A-Passioni Retinol Cream can be applied and mixed with any other Drunk Elephant products to make your own signature 'smoothie' (and buffer the strength if your face needs to build up its tolerance). Suggested cocktails are to mix 'A-Passioni' with {C-Firma} in the daytime (always followed up with a broad-spectrum SPF to shield from sunshine!), or to combine with {Lala Retro Whipped Cream} at night if your face is reactive or you've never used a retinol before. Proceed with caution if your skin is sensitive - do a patch test to assess your cells' tolerance, then use sparingly to begin with - building up the frequency over the course of several weeks.

Strong & Effective
Absorbs quickly, no fragrance (perfect for those with sensitive skin.) Can be very strong upon first use so don't underestimate this. Only a small amount (or: pomegranate bud) is enough. Works perfectly when used with the TLC drunk elephant chemical exfoliant. The only small observation I made is the colour of the cream. The yellow can transfer onto clothes. Be careful upon application.

Too strong for my skin
It makes my skin look and feel amazing. But I cannot get over the irritation it gives my skin. I tried increasing it gradually over time, but I cannot find a way to avoid the irritation. This product is definitely too strong for my skin.

Too strong for me
After adding C-firma and C-tango to my holy grails I picked up the courage and splurged on this retinol. As per instructions worked my way up from once every 2 weeks to once a week. Unfortunately my skin just cannot deal with it. I have combination skin with very sensitive cheeks, and they stay red for 1-2 days after using this. Tried it on its own, mixed with DE cream, mixed with oil. My skin is used to using the 2% retinol by TO on a daily basis. Have given DE a break and skin is back to normal. Disappointed as I was ready to love this.

Photoshop
First time using retinol (26y/o) and this product transformed my skin overnight. Quite unreal waking up with smoother and tighter skin after one use only. I use it once a week and follow up with a hydrating routine the following night.

Drunk Elephant A-Passioni
My first foray into retinol and I think I should have started at a lower percentage as my skin didn't tolerate it too well. I persevered but my skin just stayed red and irritated when I used it as directed. I must have used a vat of healing balms just to stay the drying effects. Oh well, lesson learned!

Amazing retinol
This is the first retinol I’ve used exclusively and consistently because I just love it so much. Luckily I’ve had no reaction like I’ve seen a few people say. The very first morning after I used it my skin was GLOWING. Highly recommend, it’s the best retinol I’ve ever used

Really improved my texture!!
This is the first review I have ever written despite using countless beauty/skincare problems during my young life. I had fairly horrible cystic acne during my teenage years that still gives me loads of problems (occasional breakouts, lots of pigmentation issues, etc.). Particularly I began to notice that my skin was so textured and “ruined” that even when I didn’t have any active breakouts, it still looked like I did. I bought Apassioni while trying some products by Drunk Elephant: I loved some, I liked all, but this (maybe along with Protini) is the one I can’t imagine finding a substitute for. While you can probably found other good vitamin c serum/chemical exfoliant, there is NOT another retinol like this out there. My skin still has some problems (mostly due to picking, I’m OCD and have a really hard time stopping) but my texture improved SO much. Like someone-born-with-outstanding-genes much. My skin has the general look of a Snapchat filter, to be clear. Also doesn’t break me out nor dry my skin (just use moisturizer and don’t use too much at first). I’m on my third bottle and if I’m out of money I skip on other Drunk Elephant stuff for dupes but never on this. Give it a try!

I think it’s too strong for me
This has given me bumps under my skin and I thought it would improve, but instead I started breaking out. I always had a good skin but this has made it worse. I used a slightly lower concentration before for over 6 months. I wouldn’t purchase it again
