Causes blackheads and breakouts

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was so excited to get my hands on this after finishing a more expensive serum by Tata Harper (the rejuvenating one, which is great). There is literally nothing I liked about this Druk Elephant serum. The packaging feels incredibly cheap, the pump system doesn’t work with how liquid the serum is (if you use it upright the serum just seeps into the twist-down cap), the serum’s texture is liquid-thin and oh so sticky, and it smells funky (and not in that cool “organic” sort of way). And that’s not even to mention what it does on skin: it doesn’t really absorb and remains sticky for a while, which I think is what causes the blackheads and breakouts as its consistency seems to attract dirt like a magnet. After a month and a half of use (sometimes skin takes a while to get used to a new product, after all) I’ve yet to find any positive results. If you’re still tempted to try this one please start with the smallest size you can find and save your ££.

Won't buy again

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've bought two bottles so far. The first time I obviously liked it, even though it's sticky and remains this way throughout the day. But this time once my second bottle is finished I won't repurchase because of its stickiness and price. It also irritates my skin slightly. It tingles and burns for a while after I apply it and it also smells a bit bad. I'll try a cheaper alternative.

Swear by this product

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I ran out just before lock down and there was a marked difference to the brightness and overall texture of my skin. Soon as I was able to get my hands on it again, the difference was immediate. Immediately brought back a glow!

My favourite Vitamin C serum!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I'm always surprised to discover the occasional poor review of this product because I have tried several Vitamin C serums/powders on the market and Drunk Elephant's C-Firma is my absolute favourite and I actually regard it to be a better version of Skinceuticals C E Ferulic and yet, it's so much cheaper. I have always struggle with "problem skin". I've been prone to acne my entire adult life and I suffer with hyper pigmentation. I just find this formulation absorbs so nicely on my skin and sits well under make up but most importantly, it brightens and smooths my skin like no other Vitamin C serum I've tried to date. It truly evens out my skin tone and although I am acne-prone it never breaks me out. I just read such a poor review on this site of the same product and it blows my mind how differently we all respond to products. I love the packaging, love the formulation and every time I'm unable to afford this serum, the appearance of my complexion worsens! Cannot recommend this enough.

Caused me a bad breakout

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

Not good for my combination and acne prone skin. I got bad breakout that lasts for more than a year now. It makes my skin so oily after applying and during the day it gets worse. It's a regret to purchase a skincare that is so expensive but not worth the hype. Now I am focusing to clear my acne scars with Caudalie Vinoperfect..

Brighter skin

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This product definitely does what a good vitamin c serum is supposed to- brighten the skin! The results were not immediate and you do need to be somewhat patient with it. It is tacky and I wouldn't say it has the best smell, but it works! I have a fair complexion with some redness around my nose. I now can see that without makeup my skin is definitely less red, smoother and brighter. I keep it in the fridge so that it soothes when it goes on!

Love it!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I love all DE products my skin has never been better since using their products. This is the only vitamin c serum I’ve used so I can’t speak about it in comparison from other products, but I absolutely love it. My skin is so soft and clear and even better when I pair this alongside the DE A-passioni retinol cream. Highly recommend

I don’t get the hype?

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

I bought this in the smaller version to test out. I really don’t get the hype with this product. It has a strong smell, doesn’t put me off but might with others. Once patted on the skin it leaves a sheen and is slightly tacky. I haven’t seen any benefits to brightening my skin. I wanted to love it but I just can’t repurchase this product as it has done literally nothing!

Avoid at all cost

1 stars out of a maximum of 5

This product caused more harm to my skin than good. It is sticky and smells awful. Doesn’t absorb property and there is no chance of wearing it under make up. The formula oxidises after a few days of opening the bottle and the product is a waste of money. I purchased the mini version and this is the worst vit C serum I’ve ever used. Caused chemical burns and break outs on my skin. I have developed spots after just a single use and I have followed instructions as per bottle. Honestly there are cheaper serums that work like magic. Avoid this one. Very disappointing from Drunk Elephant.
