The Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser is infused with antioxidant rich fruit extracts and oils to help soothe skin, whilst an African oil blend of marula, baobab, Kalahari melon, mongongo and ximenia intensely moisturises and restores the look of your skin's elasticity and luminosity. Use the accompanying Bamboo Booster (a physical exfoliant, formed from ultra-fine bamboo and charcoal spheres), once or twice a week to gently slough away dead skin cells to help reveal a dewy complexion.

My acne-prone skin approves
I always liked the idea of cleansing balms/butters, but they always ended up breaking me out. This looked promising, based on the ingredients and the brand, however, so I took a chance. Oh man! It’s so nice. My skin always feels so, so soft after I use it. In full disclosure I do use this as a part of a double cleanse or before an exfoliating mask.

My Favourite Cleanser/Exfoliant!
Having gotten into make-up melt type cleansers lately, I'd heard really good things about this Drunk Elephant one. When purchased I was even happier to discover it's a combi cleanser & exfoliator having a separate mini Bamboo exfoliant. The butter cleanser itself comes in a huge tub & is an oil infused, butter like formula but not sticky at all, creamy & silky. It massages well onto the skin, gliding but holding to it. Dampening hands then turns it into a milk like fluid that cleanses the skin. It's gentle yet so effective, removing all male-up, oils, dirt etc leaving your face extremely clean, refreshed & silky soft to the touch. The Bamboo exfoliant you add to the butter before application (I use this 2/3 times a week) to your face. It has a mini sifter component so you sprinkle it onto a small amount of the butter you're using. It mixes so well on your face & again, post joint cleansing & exfoliating leaves your skin amazingly clean. It is a bit costly but the huge tub lasts ages & for the results you get it really is worth every penny. I've fully switched to this now & recommend it to everybody!

This is without a doubt my holy grail makeup remover. I’ve repurchased this for years and haven’t found anything that quite lives up to this product. Effective make up remover
This removes my make up effectively and quickly. It doesn’t work well on waterproof mascara and you need to rub a bit more and wait for the oil to breakdown the mascara but works great at removing foundation etc. my skin feel softer after using my regular cleaning balm so will go back to that once this is finished but Thai would be my back up if the other was out of stock.

Great balm cleanser, with physical exfoliant attached
Whilst the smell can take some getting used to, this balm cleanser really lasts a long time as a little is enough. I built a routine around facial massage with it as added bonus as there is more than enough "slip" in it. Does not dry my already-dry skin. Five star worthy bit: it comes with a well-designed little spoon scoop that sits on the lid neatly. Four star because.. come on Drunk Elephant, please sell that exfoliant separately too. The quantity enclosed here feels like a teaser and does not last as long as the cleanser itself does, but the exfoliant cannot be bought separately.

Great Cleanser
Great, lovely buttery cleanser that melts make up away. You can add the powder (which comes with it) to add extra exfoliation. I personally prefer cleansing oils/balms as I have more mature skin and don't like products that dry my skin out. I think this is a lovely set, a little goes a long way. It is pricey though.

MIXED FEELINGS
While this does remove makeup LIKE A DREAM, it’s broke my skin out badly! I have sensitive, acne prone skin and I normally love an oil cleanser but this gave me whiteheads almost everywhere. It’s one of the few cleansers that didn’t instantly make me red though, it’s maybe too thick for my skin.
