One of my fave foundations
Great colour-range; elegant formulation; smooth, flawless application whether you use a sponge or a brush. Very long lasting; medium coverage that can definitely be built up to full. It works well with powder or cream/liquid blushes or bronzers. The best feature is the even, soft matte, light diffused effect it gives to your complexion, still bringing luminosity. Difficult to put into words, it must be tried. Two small pumps are more than enough to cover my whole face and neck, so in the long run it is worth the price for sure. I have combo/sensitive skin, but I hear this foundation is well loved by people who have dry or oily skin types.

Mixed feelings
I love Hourglass’ powder products, so was eager to try this, especially as their shade range is so great (I’m super pale). Shade 1 is a perfect match for my skin, it’s a neutral tone, leaning cool and just blends flawlessly into my neck. I apply with a brush, and don’t have any trouble with applying over a well moisturised base (no primer). However, I do find that this product sits into lines, especially my smile lines, more than any other foundations I’ve tried. It also separates around my nose and smile lines even when set super well in those areas. Texture is slightly accentuated and I do find it to be more mask like and thick than I opt for nowadays. Medium coverage, leaning full. My verdict is, for the price point, it’s so not worth it. It doesn’t wear long enough or well enough to hold the price tag it does. It certainly doesn’t match up to Hourglass’ top tier powder products, which is super disappointing. There are better performing options for a fifth of the price, however those options definitely have a worse shade range for my fair skin. The shade isn’t enough for me to continue using, as I’d much prefer a slightly off shade than a product that causes me to dislike the way I look in the mirror!

New Favourite Foundation
My go to foundation has always been Nars but I thought I’d try this one out because of the reviews and I was not disappointed! The only difference is that it doesn’t have as much coverage as Nars but it can be layered really well and doesn’t look cakey - I do have very dry skin so you do have to make sure you skin is very moisturised before putting it on.

Nice but could be better
I’ve used this a few times and I really like the colour match. I have combination skin that’s a bit dry in the winter but even with a lot of skin prep this foundation seems to cling to dry areas. I’m hoping that it will be an ideal summer foundation as it does last really well and gives good coverage.
