ilāpothecary – taking its name in part from the Sanskrit word for Earth, ‘ila’ – champions the remedial qualities of natural ingredients in its quest to counter the stresses of everyday life. Like a modern form of alchemy, the award-winning brand harnesses British-grown plants such as borage and thyme (both known for their history of healing), aromatherapeutic oils, gemstones, vitamins, and homeopathic ingredients. A gorgeous concoction of essential oil that culminates in a sweet herbal aroma, the SOS Body Balm not only lavishes your limbs with anti-inflammatory ingredients but also uplifts your mood.
Winning 'best body balm' in Harper's Bazaar Best of the Best Beauty Awards, ilāpothecary SOS Body Balm is a divine-smelling herbal balm that soothes and quenches dry skin. Plus, it even helps to relieve tired muscles, swollen joints or bruises.
With a number attributed to each ilāpothecary signature blend, no. 101's herbal aroma is centred around harmony and restoration. Here's how: it's laced with blue chamomile which is thought to help ease tension from the mind and promote a sense of peace and acceptance. The ultimate soothing treatment, it's packed with intensely nourishing ingredients that comfort dry, flaky, stressed and irritated skin. Ok
This is a luxurious body balm and whilst I like using it I’m not sure I would repurchase. The smell is ok in my opinion but it is soothing on aches and joints

in LOVE with this balm
I have never really found a multi-purpose balm I can call my hero, this is it. Not only does this smell DEVINE, but this really does help with keeping dryer areas of my skin nourished! For reference, I love using this on my elbows, back of ankles, knees, and sometimes in between my fingers. I have also sometimes used this on my body on top of my body lotion for extra moisture! Would most definitely recommend and most definitely be repurchasing.

Nourishing
This has a really interesting balm-like texture that I have never used on the body before. First of all, the smell is absolutely dreamy. It has a warm, instantly relaxing, and calming scent. It starts as a balm and then instantly melts on the skin into an oil. It is extremely nourishing and hydrating and I can imagine this would be perfect for anyone with really dry skin/patches on the body. The only downside for me is the greasy/oily feeling that is left on the skin.

Soothing mind and body
If you love a rich balmy texture that melts into a nourishing oil that remains beautifully fragrant throughout the day, look no more. When I first opened the jar I had this “wow” moment just from the mesmerising scent, having read the ingredients before I was expecting something quite botanical and natural, but this has a warm, spicy and intricate fragrance to it. It feels like a soft and comforting embrace and I love to use a little bit in the day on my tired hands and shoulders for a gorgeous pick me up. It’s also great on dry patches and bruises (if you’re as clumsy as me!).
