Hmmm
I tried this in a department store and loved it. Now I have it I am not as enamoured. It is certainly heavy on the cassis, but not as refined from the get go as I remember. It needs time to dry down - like a few hours - to really smell good and for the other notes to come out. This is definitely a winter fragrance for me. Don’t regret buying it but will need some more wear to feel like I am fully comfortable with splashing out on it. I also wish it were an EDP, but it is long lasting for an EDT.

Gorgeous deep fragrance; if you like By the Fireplace, Hwyl, and YSL Cinema I think you would like this too. I did find that my bottle smelt more ‘blackberry-ish’ than when I had tried it on in store somewhere but still really like it. I just wish it were EDP not EDT for more depth and longevity. In that respect Jo Loves perfumes are a bit tame. However, certainly my most favourite of those I have tried from this line.

Cherry bomb
This is quite the departure from other Jo Loves fragrances. I adore Pomelo and also love the pink vetiver and Jo by Jo Loves perfumes. The citrusy scents are right up my street, they are my regular go-tos. My instant reaction to ebony & cassis was that it’s like a smoky cola cube sweet! Which is nice in theory but I’m not enjoying much as a standalone scent. I have to layer it with a ‘cooler’ fresher scent to balance it. Definitely giving vibes of Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry which also knocks your socks off with its boldness, if you enjoy that kind of scent.

Boozy Blackberry
I am a fan of Jo Loves and citrus scents. This is completely different and more adult in nature. It is a boozy musky blackberry scent that I appreciate like I do with Tom Ford’s Lost cherry. This gives me another great perfume to fit what mood I am in.
