Over hyped
That awful feeling when you buy into the hype and the product does nothing but disappoint. Let's start with the colour choices. Poor. I picked SX11 based on the description and research; it is this weird saffron colour. Looking at SX12 that looks like it would give me a awful fake tan appearance. I have Asian/Middle eastern/Latin medium to tan olive skin type. The product is thick, gloopy and lacks wearability. I want to 100% agree with another reviewer on here about how uncomfortable it feels to wear and in fact covers very little! I have a feeling it's better for oily skin type as it seems to have a blotting effect..disastrous for normal to dry skin like mine. I will give this one more chance mixed with my face oil to break down the thick, tacky consistency and see if it applies better. Wish I'd never bought.

If you're undecided give it a go
So I was recommended this by a friend. I was determined to try it as I'm bit of a make up fanatic...Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury to Mac - you name it i've tried it. Have to say I am pleased. It really is a small pot and you kind of think, is this really worth it.. But honestly I put two drops of oil from the body shop (oils of life) and use a beauty blender and it gives you a flawless, cakeless base. I probably should try using a brush with it but i can't imagine it working that well unless your concealing specific blemishes or using a small amount worked in with a cream to more of a tinted moisturiser consistency. I guess what makes this product so great for me is that you can literally make it as heavy or as light as you want. I really can't deal with most liquid foundations these days, it never looks natural. I feel like its either...cover my blemishes and look like I'm wearing make up or settle for less and not have my blemishes covered... I find the best thing about it is it's buildable, and not even in the same way that other foundations are..you can legit build up layer upon layer. Thank you Kevyn Aucoin for once in my life I actually found a colour match that works (SX08 - I'm mixed race with a yellow/olive skin tone) and the closest I could manage was Bobbi Brown before that in about warm natural. I've been colour matched with Mac - NC40 (I still think this isn't exactly my colour), Nars in stromboli, but I'd say SX08 is ever so slightly darker; just to give some colour references. I actually purchased mine online and prayed for the right match. I have to say this was after extensive research and browsing over colour swatches (not that helpful because of the different lightings). I would highly recommend going to a store and getting tested...maybe use an online shade matcher if you're really struggling. I'm now looking for a shade down and up now so I can conceal and bronze with the same product. I'm not a huge fan of cream products but this is worth it. Definitely one of the best I've tried so far. Give it a go if you're unsure I'd say. GL in finding your holy grail make up lovers. Forgot to mention try it for under eye bags...it's amazing...and this is coming from someone who's been hooked on mac prolonger concealer for the past 3 years.

Extremely disappointed
I bought this after reading great reviews. I tried this in every way I could possibly think of: on a damp beauty blender, with a concealer brush, my fingers, with every kind of moisturiser I own, with and without setting powder. It's very thick, feels very sticky, and I have to say I use the absolute tiniest amount - so far my small jar of SSE looks like it's remained untouched. I put it to the test on my under eye area, and it's been creasing into fine lines like it's nobody's business; on my blemishes, it enhanced every tiny flake and dry patch, making visible what was originally barely noticeable. Doesn't cover the redness of my blemishes, either, which is unbelievable given how thick it is. It feels very uncomfortable to wear - when I touch my face where the product is, it's sticky and feel tacky and waxy. It is the absolute opposite of the kind of makeup I like. I have no idea what to do with it now and am so disappointed I paid such a high price for something that's positively impossible for me to use!

One of the best foundations ever....
I am using this as a foundation and this is the only foundation stay 6+ hours with my super oily skin. Covers dark circles and redness well; wish I find it earlier. Thanks a lot Cult Beauty.

Wow
So this concealer screams wow factor. It does seem pricey but I can assure you it's worth every penny... Literally the best concealing product I've used in terms of coverage. The different tones you can buy through the shades can contour and also add in depth look to your face... I love love love the texture of this concealer, and honestly can't get enough! This was the first Kevin aucoin product I purchased and it certainly wasn't the last. A beautiful concealer which I use every day, even on days when I'm pretty much makeup free this is a must in my beauty bag, I advise everyone to invest!!!

Absolutely love it
I saw quite a few people try this all over YouTube and because it's so thick and covers up a lot of redness under the eye. I thought you wouldn't need a lot so I thought I would try it. After putting it on literally it is the most best concealer in the world I cannot fault it at all!

Worth Every Penny
This is quite possibly the only face makeup item I've ever bought that hasn't reacted badly with my skin in any way (trust me my skin hates E V E R Y T H I N G but this). The colour selection is amazing, you can build it up or thin it out. I loved it so much I bought two - the lighter one I use as a concealer with other foundations, the other I use as a foundation. Cannot stress my love for this product enough.

Couldn't live without it!
I have only ever used high street and Mac concealer, but have never been 100% happy with the result. I have dark circles under my eyes, and this covers them amazingly. I honestly can't believe how good it is. At first I did get a little creasing but I've changed primer for under the eye and use Laura Mercier setting powder over the top which seems to stop this. A little does really go a long way and I can't see my having to restock this for a long while! I have medium olive skin, and use NC30 in mac studio fix, and use SX06 which works perfectly. If you unsure email the girls at Cult what foundation you use and they will advise which colour is best.

It really is that good!
I love almost everything about this concealer, but I do understand other reviews that point out to get the most from it, you do have to be prepared to work with it in quite a specific way. Tip number 1 (that I cannot emphasise enough) is a little goes a loooonngg way! For me this is great because I honestly am not sure I will ever have to buy another one - which make what seems like a steep price tag actually an incredible bargain! You only need literally a pin sized amount on something like a small eyeliner brush to pin point conceal and then blend with a fingertip or brush. This is the best product I have found to cover spots or scarring in small areas, it is very high coverage. Tip number 2 however is that the creamy texture is not super under eye friendly (certainly in terms of not creasing throughout the day) so my advice would be to again apply with a small concealer or eyeliner brush at the outer edge of any dark circles only and blend up towards the lash line. This is as it is very high coverage anyway and you really want as thinner layer as possible if you want it to last all day. If you want to thin it and blend it really well, use the warmth from your fingertips. If you want to retain as much of the coverage as possible (such as when concealing blemishes) use a small, fluffy brush to dab and blend it at the edges. Hope that helps anyone!

Wonderful for dark skin too
I tried this product after reading the reviews. I always try products that get loads of good reviews and I'm glad I did. I bought the sx13 and WOW! I have spots and am a dark skinned girl and it works perfect it covers them and leaves my skin looking more closer to natural than caked. I have oily skin and I would recommend it to people wanting a more natural look which is not caked up or made up - a little goes a long way indeed so the small container can last a year !!!! Great product
