Famed for his cutting-edge collections, Belgian designer, Martin Margiela, launched his eponymous house in the late ‘80s, garnering fans with his avant-garde shapes and irreverent twist on tradition (his cloven-toed boots are iconic). With his first fragrance – Untitled – launching in 2010, the Maison has since spawned a swathe of unexpected scents which recollect specific points in time – from By The Fireplace to Whispers in the Library – the Replica series makes moments and memories wearable; each spritz will transport you straight to your favourite Beach Walk or that wild night you spent at the Jazz Club (remember?). Get set to take a long walk along memory lane…
Available in an exclusive 30ml size!
It’s 2001 in Paros, Greece. Clad in swimming gear and accessorised with excited smiles, you and your friends hurtle towards the beach – kicking up sand and startling birds as you carelessly run. The sea reflects the bright blue of the sky, and fresh, salty spray gently kisses your skin. Armed with feelings of adventure, anticipation and youthful joy, you climb aboard your boat as a sharp breeze catches its sails – guiding you through the ocean’s vast expanse…
The Replica Sailing Day Eau De Toilette is a snapshot in time – a bottled memory of the ‘aquatic deep sea’, made with unique top notes of aquatic accord and juniper pure jungle essence. Middle notes of coriander, iris absolute and rose superessence lend a sharp, green shift, while red seaweed pure jungle essence, ambergris accord and orcanox offer a sweet but earthy twist. Coming in two different sizes – 100ml and an exclusive 30ml – never be without your favourite fragrance and treasured memory.

Fresh and comforting
A nice light everyday fragrance, clean and oceanic, definitely unisex (as some from this brand have been way too sickly sweet)

One of my favourites - fresh and salty
I adore 'salty' scents, and sailing day simply ticks all the boxes. It's not overpowering, it's fresh and subtle. If you like Armani's Aqua di Gioia and Molton Brown's Coastal Cypress - Maison Margiela's Sailing Day will definitely be a hit. I originally got a box of small-sized fragrances from MM (elsewhere) to check which ones I liked. My favourites are now this one and Lazy Sunday Morning (which is a bit sweeter). Full size is expensive, but thanks to Cult Beauty's Black Friday discounts, I was able to treat myself this November :)

So fresh!
If you like aquatic fragrances then you have to try this! It smells SO fresh and makes me feel as if I'm sitting right by the ocean on a hot day. It's the most perfect scent for the Summer ( although I plan on wearing it all year round!)
