I love this SPF so much, it has a very nice texture and the ingredients list is just perfect

Best so far

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I started using this after a disastrous encounter with Pai British Summertime and was really pleased. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin (although my skin does get drier towards the end of the day) and it doesn't leave a white cast at all. It's a rather nice base for make-up and is also nice to 'take the edge off' bare skin. It was a make-up tint to it (a mid-beige tone) which matches my light skin quite well, but if you have darker skin I could imagine it maybe is a bit ashy. I was hesitant due to the price but I do really recommend it.

Best SPF I've tried so far...

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've bought this product twice and so far it's the best one I've tried. I'm a fitzpatrick skin type 1, so the white cast is visible for a second but after that it's not noticeable, I feel like it just makes my skin tone more even. My skin feels so velvety afterwards, I love it.

It's alright

NIOD is DECIEM's luxury line of sorts, and its price tag certainly reflects this. I'm using this mainly as a mineral sunscreen and can't speak for its antioxidant effects yet, but... this is certainly no cosmetically elegant sunscreen. It dispenses as a sort of greige liquid that leaves a slight shine to my oily skin. Worst of all, I'm a fair-medium at my most tan, and I received comments on how prominent the sunscreen was on my forehead, which is the darkest part of my face. There is most certainly a white cast and I can't imagine this working for people with darker skin tones. Plus, it's not sweat resistant and comes in a tiny bottle, so expect to go through it fast.

The best I’ve tried

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

Love this stuff! I had been looking for a nice, non-sticky sunscreen and immediately loved this! It has a slight tint (I’m very fair and it’s perfect on my skin) and is on the runny side (which I love) and is a great base for make up. The only downside is the small size but rather large price tag. However, I would happily repurchase because this is on point in my opinion.

Love

I bought the 20 SPF when the 30 was out of stock. I loved that product and how well it went on, as well as after putting on my make-up it was quite smooth. Then the 30 SPF was in stock! I love the coverage of this too! It is a little darker than the 20 but does not interfere with my make -up either. It goes on very well, the product is not dry so it goes on smoothly and doesn’t drag across my face. I actually like it without make-up and love that it has zinc, but not white on my face at all. Love ❤️

A No-No for POC

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I'm fitzpatrick skin type 3-4, light during the winter and brown during the summer. I was on the waitlist for this because it's NIOD (ordered from the U.S.). Mineral SPFs will always leave a cast on POC, POC know even tinted mineral SPFs are not a one size fit all... that being said the cast on this is EXCEPTIONALLY ghastly. The texture is amazing, like any silicone based mineral SPF, it also leaves you with a beautiful satin finish and it's great as a primer. But the cast, there's no getting over it and I'm considered lightskinned for POC. For every mineral SPF I always top it off with my shade BareMinerals SPF Complexion rescuer, albeit there's many mineral SPFs I can "get away with" the white-cast. This is absolutely not one of those SPFs. I ordered 2 of these and intend to use them (mostly for my hands but depending on the finish I want that day I'll use it for my face), but I would never recommend them to any of my POC friends because I don't expect people to top of their SPF with any complexion product (tints/foundations). Good, but not for POC. Would be great if NIOD made a few shades for inclusivity, but until then I'll spend my money on other mineral SPFs.

THE BEST!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have ageing / acne prone, sensitive combination skin. This moisturises yet stays matte and acts like a primer or just perfect protection on days I just want a little blush on bare skin. I can use it around eyes and lids without any discomfort. I have never found a more comfortable SPF, and I have tried so many!

Revolutionary product

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is a very unique product with a unique formulation providing protection from sun, pollution and - what sold me - blue light. This is actually a repurchase for me, but will use it more in the winter. Currently I am using the DE Umbra Tint, while I still have some summer tan going, otherwise it will be too dark in the colder months. Anyways, back to the Niod Survival 30... it is a very easy product to use, does not peel your products on top, sits very well under makeup, it has silicones so I find it very smoothing on the skin. There is a natural yellowish tint, but when applied it goes one pinky-grayish, I know it is very weird, but then disappears. It leaves the skin almost glowy, so doesn’t mattify, this is a plus for me, although I am leaning towards oily. Bottom line is, this is a very special product, delivering you protection and does not cause you stress when applying. I recommend, but once I finish the second bottle I have, I will probably explore other suncare options. Btw, when approaching the end of the product, it can start squirting, so be careful with that.
