Founded in 2016 by stylist to the stars Jen Atkins, OUAI (that's pronounced 'way') translates to 'yes'. Encouraging you to say yes to letting go of unrealistic expectations and embracing imperfections, the brand offers an alternative to the one-size-fits-all approach to hair care. Lightweight to the very last drop, the Fine Hair Shampoo (300ml) is designed to bring back the bounce and boost volume for even the most lacklustre-looking strands.
Transforming your wash day chore into a hair care ritual, the Fine Hair Shampoo (300ml) works to revive healthy-looking shine and thickness, one hydrating sud at a time.
If your tresses veer more towards the flat side, it can be difficult to style and that's where this volumising staple enters your routine to rewrite your hair's fate. Boasting a nourishing blend of hydrolysed keratin, biotin, hemp and chia seed oils, this weightless formula supports root-to-tip thickness that'll have everyone asking for your hair care secrets. Its iconic 'Mercer Street' fragrance is the perfect finishing touch; orange melds with peony, magnolia, jasmine and musk for a delicate scent even after the suds wash down the drain.

It's nice
There are a couple of things I like about this shampoo - firstly, the smell. Just like all OUAI products, it smells incredible. Secondly, I love how this has a nice lather and washes out really well. It leaves my hair feeling really clean without any buildup at the root. I also love the packaging, it's sleek and simple and looks great in your bathroom. Apart from that I wasn't totally blown away, it made my hair feel nice but I feel like I have tried better shampoos. Having said that I will definitely use it up and I am really tempted to try the Detox shampoo too!

A solution for thin but not for very greasy hair
Reading the many positive reviews, I had high expectations, but unfortunately, I was disappointed in this shampoo. My hair is thin and within 24 hours it will be completely greasy. My skin is dry everywhere except on my scalp. If I wash my hair in the evening, it will start to grease in the morning and it will be awful after a day. This shampoo didn’t help the problem at all, it just made it worse... However, my husband loved to use it on his thinning (but not rapidly greasy) hair!

GREAT SHAMPOO
I have really fine hair, and would drop a lot; especially after a shower! I have tried multiple shampoos but this one really improved my hair loss problem! Happy!

Great smell
This shampoo is great for fine hair. It smells amazing and it makes your hair super soft. It also helps with damaged hair. A healthier look overall.

Worth every penny for me
I have a lot of problems (dry strands, oily roots, psoriasis in the scalp, flakiness, frizz) so it's hard to find a product that works well with everything. The generic products in grocery stores etc. are a hard pass for me - the harsh chemicals loaded in make my scalp hurt and it can never clean well enough for the oils to stay at bay meaning my hair looks flat, limp, and greasy by day 2. I have been trying more high-end brands in the hopes that spending a little more will keep the condition of my hair better, clean thoroughly, and feel nicer on the scalp. Thought I'd give this one a shot. A point to consider: this shampoo range is actually quite luxurious so I would recommend going one step down from what you think you would need! If you have pretty thick, dense hair, I would suggest medium. If your hair is a medium density or light, then choose fine. I started with med and fine as my hair is rather thick but can lose mass quickly (health conditions) and got the bottles as I wasn't sure I'd like it. I have now bought a big bag of fine shampoo. Turns out, this is the product I've been searching for! It smells lovely and expensive - lightly perfumed the way sophisticated products often are. It leaves a pretty scent in your hair but isn't overwhelming. The formula is runny, but not to the point where it drops out of your hand if you move it. It's thick enough to hold onto and transfer to the scalp securely. This shampoo is the only product I have used that genuinely keeps the oil at bay. I can go 2, 3, even 4 days without my hair looking like a mess and don't even need to spritz dry shampoo until the final day! The roots stay fresh and bouncy and I can have a few days of leaving my hair out, not needing to tie it up all the time because it looks ugly and limp. My scalp loves it too! Since switching, I have been able to cut back on the amount of medicated shampoo I need to use for psoriasis because of how gentle it is and the way it doesn't strip everything off in its bid to cleanse. I am also able to get a good amount of usage out of the bottle/bag - you don't have to keep adding tons to actually feel like it's doing its cleaning job. Bear in mind if you're a bubble kind of person, this doesn't create a thick foamy lather. It also helps lift the roots and bring more body and bounce to the hair, which is perfect especially if your hair is fine and needs the boost. The hair definitely feels softer - this is a big plus for me because I have very processed strands that have been bleached and dyed dozens of times - and gives it a nice shine. It didn't do much in the way of helping tame the hair and frizz, but that's ok with me considering all the other benefits I have found with it. I'm happy to add a couple of steps with oils and serums for that, while this product revives the strands, lifts my roots, keeps my hair clean, and is kind to the scalp. I'm really happy they do the big recyclable bags as well - the bulk buy helps me save a bit of money and do my part for the environment. The bottle itself is also really pretty and looks nice on the shelf (I'm a big skincare, body care, haircare fanatic and love having a pretty and curated collection). Had to drop the 5 stars and leave this review in the hopes that others like me may find the perfect shampoo for them, too!

It’s ok
The shampoo is okay. Hair looks more shiny after it. But I will not buy it again because my scalp feels itchy after I use it regularly. Need to stop for some time and then could use it again.

Squeaky clean
I have a lot of hair but it’s very fine. Very hard to detangle and I have yet to find an everyday conditioner or mask that is up to the job. Thankfully shampoo is a bit easier. This is lovely, with a very subtle scent and rich lather. It seems to keep my hair cleaner for longer and gives a good shine. The only criticism is that it makes my wet hair feel like it’s doubled in size and this makes it harder to rinse. Maybe after a proper post lockdown haircut, I’ll see an improvement!

Finally! The answer to fine hair!
I've had fine, flat, poker-straight hair all my life and this is the first shampoo I've used (and I've used them all!) that's noticeably plumped it up. I wouldn't ever use another shampoo again, this is so effective and completely worth the price. 10/10
