Apply a pea-sized amount after cleansing, toning and exfoliating, and then follow with your serum and/or nighttime moisturiser. Avoid the lips, direct contact with the eye, and corners of the eyes. You may apply up to the orbital bone of the eye area. When first using the Clinical 1% Retinol, start with no more than three evenings per week, then gradually increase frequency to every other night and, finally, every evening as tolerated.

great for intermediate retinol users
I used this product for a few months before I moved on to tret. it's not irritating and great to use if you're used to lower % of retinol. it made my skin smooth.

Great Retinol for Beginners
I was new to retinol when I started using this and was slightly scared of the 1% concentration. Since then I used multiple options on the market and I can say this is still the one I reach out towards. It's gentle, it's effective, it has visible results & I consider it fairly priced for the quality it offers. I have combination skin, not particularly sensitive overall but to Retinols & Vitamin C products I do sometimes get unwanted reactions on my skin. I recommend starting either with a patch test or with the "sandwich method"as I do, when I place my active ingredient in between thin layers of moisturizer to tone down the actives. Overall, great product, would definitely purchase & recommend it to friends.

Impressive result, but be prepared for dryness
After trying the mini version, I noticed it made my skin feel tighter and brighter, I decided to purchase the full-size product. However, I did experience some side effects, including dry skin and purging. I now have to use an overnight facial balm on non-retinol days. It’s a 5 stars from me bc i see this as a long-term staple in my routine.

I’m obsessed with this product. It took me a while to build up the tolerance to retinol and this one is definitely the most potent. The first few times I used it was too often and my skin wasn’t happy but then I reduced the amount of times I used it and I absolutely love the results. The texture is so lovely!
