Apply a pea-sized amount after cleansing, toning and exfoliating, and then follow with your serum and/or nighttime moisturiser. Avoid the lips, direct contact with the eye, and corners of the eyes. You may apply up to the orbital bone of the eye area. When first using the Clinical 1% Retinol, start with no more than three evenings per week, then gradually increase frequency to every other night and, finally, every evening as tolerated.

The worst retinol ever
I had high hopes for the retinol. Unfortunately, it triggered some redness on my neck( didn't put it there), my skin became very dry and completely broke my skin barrier. I have used many strong retinol creams without problems but this is not worth buying the full size, my mistake. I tried buffer but still looked dry and red like burned. Omg, so many unpleasant feeling about this cream. Even after 3 weeks still have dry skin and neck.

Gentle
I used this PC 1% retinol for a few years, I really liked it as I didn't have too much reaction, my skin was smooth and clear, and I loved the smell. I have moved to something stronger now as I found I didn't get that much visible difference with my fine lines compared to stronger products that I use now.

Gentler than expected
I have been using retinol for about 3 years now and working up from low percentages from The Ordinary to this. I haven't experienced any redness, dryness or irritation, but have seen my skin looking healthy and clearer. I am using this to treat spots rather than wrinkles and think it is working well so far - definitely think it's more effective than the one I was using previously. The texture is really nice and a little goes a long way - I use 1 1/2 pumps to do my whole face, it absorbs quickly and plays nicely with other products.

When you think about the price for 5ml it’s a lot but I personally use it as a night eye cream and we all know a standard 15ml eye cream seems to last forever so I am happy with the price. I am glad this isn’t a greasy product. My eyes are always plump and hydrated upon waking up. I might be mad but my fine lines around my eyes seem to be gone and smoothed out but predominantly for me being only 21 retinol is a long-term thing prevention thing. I might get the bigger size to test on my forehead as the texture doesn’t seem too thick that it would break me out and the fine lines on my forehead definitely need some TLC. I really love and trust Paula’s choice of products

Good, but no obvious results
I like it, good texture, absorbs quickly and well. Not sure if it is 1% retinol - I've been using it almost daily after starting off with using every other night. No reaction, no stinging. As for results - I have not seen any obvious improvements, and I've finished 1 bottle now. I may repurchase as I do like it overall and just hope the result is the delay of wrinkles, but for now will try couple other retinol products and see how that goes.
