Amazing cleanser

The cream part of this cleanser is lovely. Beautiful texture, fragrance free and packed with peptides. Leaves my skin soft and smooth and always looks brighter the next day. I would love a seperate pot of of it as would like to use it sometimes in the morning (although I know the purpose is to have a 'double cleanse' product). The balm is nice too - really gentle, removes highly pigmented lipstick, heavy mascara and full coverage foundation. No eye sting or residue left. I have also recently started suffering with rosacea and it does not irritate it. Lovely product.

Really good cleanser but without added wow ;-(

I love Caroline Hirons (and Pixi Glow Tonic) so wanted to love this cleanser but as another reviewer said it is completely joyless to use. That I find it joyless is in part Lady CH's fault! Through her blog and CHforCB collab boxes, she has introduced me to some fabulous cleansers including Emma Hardie Moringa Balm, Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser, May Lindstrom Pendulum Potion and so on. However, I am pretty sure that Caroline didn't make this cleanser for me. She made it for people who have sensitive skin that can't take fragranced cleansers, for people who need to be weened of face wipes and micellar water and those that actually need to start cleansing - and double cleansing not just removing makeup. Possibly also for those who can't afford or want to pay for more expensive cleansers. After all CH herself says that you should spend your most money in the middle bit of your skincare (the treatments, serums, oils, etc) and economise on the cleansers and moisturisers. I give it three stars because it does exactly what it should (i.e. cleanse really well without stripping or irritating the skin). The remaining 2 stars were deducted from the annoying packaging and overall lack of excitement. Am astonished that there is actually 2 x 50ml of cleanser in there as it lasted very little time even though I used in rotation with other cleansers. At a push, I would repurchase the balm if it were available separately as a 100ml pot for no more than twenty quid.

LOVE

My eyes are super super sensitive to everything (including micellar waters) but I find that this takes all my make up off perfectly, including waterproof mascara, and doesn't sting at all. It leaves my skin feeling its cleanest and sets me up for the rest of my skin care routine. Will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out. I also think that it is a fair price for what you get.

Don't believe the hype

I bought into the hype of this and purchased. In reality it is a very plain, insipid product. There is no real fragrance, and the cream was actually quite drying for my skin. The product is completely JOYLESS to use - no lovely smell to experience, just a very clinical white cream, and oil cleanser (coconut oil would do the same job). Very disappointed and regret purchasing this. Going back to my Emma Hardie moringa.

Great reliable cleanser

The balm cleanser is brilliant for removing absolutely everything, layers of SPF and all. The cream cleanser is nice and gentle as a second cleanse and leaves my skin soft. You won't get a luxury feeling from using the product, because as I understand it, that's not what it's supposed to be. It's brilliant for travelling, I used to end up not really taking the cleansers I wanted when packing light but I always put this in now. I do still use my Ren cleansers now and then because they feel like more of a treat, but this is my reliable every day product for feeling like I've done a good job of cleansing. I'm about to repurchase.

Needs more product

Lots of people with different opinions on this one. I really like this product, or rather my skin really likes it. I have combo skin - oily t-zone, dry cheeks - and I have mild rosacea on my cheeks too. My skin feels thoroughly clean after using this, but never tight as it does with other cleansers. The balm side is nice enough, but nothing overly special. The cream side however is really lovely, I'd love to be able to buy a big pot of this on its own. The real drawback of this product for me is the price/size. It has only lasted me around 5 weeks of daily usage in the evenings. For the price I'd like to get at least 2 months out of it, if not more. Having said that, I will be repurchasing.

Good for sensitive skin

This product is really nice, and does the job, but doesn't do anything special to justify the price (while it doesn't look that high, one month of use is not great). I have sensitive, acne prone skin which also tends to look dull. This product didn't agitate my skin, and left it balanced after washing , and also helped brighten my skin a bit (only used at night, remove both with Emma Hardie face cloth- amazing by the way!). I just haven't been blown away by it and won't repurchase. I also have found I've run out of the cleansing cream much before the balm.

Great expectations....

I had great expectations for this product after the hype on social media. I guess it's Ok for me; I like the balm side of the products very much, but don't like the cream cleanser at all. It's too thin and runny in texture (not creamy enough) and does nothing for me. There are definitely better options out there. So I'll stick to my Clinique. Take the day off balm and some other face-wash alas. Then again for travelling it's quite convenient to just take one item with you.

Great, but pricey

I learned a lot about skincare from Caroline and I really like her product. I have been using it for the past 5 months and my skin loves it. However, I have to agree with some of the other comments here, it is a bit pricey for the quantity you get. This product only lasts me about a month of only nightly use, maybe a week more if I am being really careful at how much I use. I am really sad, but I have decided to try other products that will last me longer for the price I pay for this one, and only because of the price I am giving this product 4 stars. On another note, I have read one comment here that says it didn't remove make up. Funny enough, one time I was wearing red nail polish, and while cleansing my face with the cleansing oil reached for my flannel and a little bit of the nail polish rubbed off the flannel. The cleansing oil took off my nail polish... now, I'm not sure if that is a good sign or not, but if it can melt the nail polish off, it is definitely melting the make up off your face.

Underwhelming

I longed for this, as I always double cleanse and I love Pixi products so expected to love this. I can't use it on my eyes though, they hurt for so long after and I don't have sensitive eyes at all. I have to use something else on my eyes first, meaning 3 cleanses in total and that just seems to defeat the point. In themselves though, the cleansers are perfectly nice and do the job. My skin feels lovely afterwards too. For the money though, I was something more than just functional and you don't get a lot for the money either, this will probably last me a month, if that.
