Can't get this product to work for me

I applied this with a brush as instructed but I can't get it to work without ruining the make-up underneath. It also doesn't mattify very well. Might be ok for 'no make-up' days but I have other products that deliver much better results such as the Smashbox Mattify Primer Stick. Overall I regret purchasing this (expensive) item.

Amazing product!

I cannot speak highly enough of this product. It's not like a powder, it's a magic smoothing and mattifying thing! I am over 50 (well over...) and I tend to use quite heavy creams and foundation, plus have a tendency to be suddenly hot and "glowing". The Invisible Mattifier goes on with a chunky brush over my foundation or tinted moisturiser, or even on its own, and makes my skin lovely and smooth, takes the grease off, and leaves it just very natural. It's not cakey like a powder, and doesn't settle into areas of imperfection. I have pale skin and it doesn't leave me ghostly. Now I would not leave home without this product!

Meh

I wanted to love this! But I just couldn’t get it to work! It moves my foundation around. My brush won’t pick any up. I’ve tried all brushes and beauty blenders. Sadly for me, it’s a useless product. It’s just sat in my drawer doing nothing. And it’s very expensive as well. I was extremely disappointed with it, sadly!

Holy grail item!

I use this every day. On no makeup days, it takes the shine off. I also use this over my foundation instead of setting powder. I even use it to 'set' my under eye concealer. While I use a largely self-setting concealer, this takes the shine off, reduces movement and smooths beautifully - it's the perfect in between powder its not too drying, doesn't accentuate your wrinkles or leaves you cakey. The best part is that you can apply anything over the top of this product. Unlike after using setting powder, you can easily apply cream and liquid blush over top, with less risk of disrupting your base because it leaves a perfectly dry, smooth surface to work on. Powders glide over it like a dream because it takes away all the tackiness. As a person with a very warm, deep tan skin tone, this is a holy grail product - doesn't affect the shade of my base, doesn't oxidize or leave any visible residue or white cast. A dream for those with darker skin tones and who struggle with looking grey after setting powders. I've used it with both cream and liquid foundations, applied with a MAC 240S under my eyes and a MAC 116 for the rest of the face (i.e. very soft brushes that give a light coverage). Easy to touch up during the day with fingers. It really is just an all around great product that I think anyone will find useful, all be it not essential.

Good but not great... would repurchase if affordable

I like a matte skin finish and this does work to blur and mattify. However it’s such a delicate silicone texture that it practically melts on yours fingers, very light. I think it’s great for no makeup days and you want a no slick look but I don’t think it is heavy enough for makeup to last over the top. I tend to keep this for touch ups. I would repurchase in order to touch up on the go but only if the price was reduced. To me it’s not the ultimate matte primer as hyped.

Perfect!

All I wanted it to be and more.... I now have mat porcelain skin and not caked. Not for under the eyes...

Amazing

I think this product is amazing, it is light; which is the key, for me, in subtly mattifying my combination skin. One tip I must give is, because it doesn’t last all that long on the T-zone area, is to take it out with you with a small brush; if you need an all day/night cover. I am a beauty product junkie, most of the things I buy aren’t a re-purchase and a lot sits in my draw but hey I’m human and I’m flawed. I saw a review on Lisa Eldridge’s YouTube channel and apply it as she does, press it in to the skin. As I said; I have combination skin, I prefer a luminous to natural foundation finish, I do not do cake bake, so I can get shiny throughout the course of the day/night. I fully intend to repurchase this item in due course. It is expensive but worth it.

Revolutionary!

I hardly ever write reviews, but..... this is a complete game changer and heralds the end of those awful chalky, cakey blotting powders. I use with a big, fluffy powder brush and use wherever I don't want shine and the result is flawless shine-free skin. I am buying another for my son who has an oily t-zone! No extra colour, no chalkiness, no ashy dryness. Can be used as a primer too without the extra heaviness. I guess all the others will be bringing out their version of this soon and may well be cheaper. For now, I am happy to pay for a product that actually works and surpasses its claims!!!

Game Changer

Love this, used the Madina in my kit for years, so hard to get hold of, as it could not be shipped, love how it’s been reformulated and available to everyone and not just a backstage secret, love love.
