Hummingbird colour description slightly misleading. Formula 4/10
This is my fourth Rituel de Fille product and if I am being completely honest, I have been so deeply disappointed in each one. I was so desperate to love the brand as it aligns very much with my desire to support small, independent brands and those who use truly cruelty-free practices and ingredients. I do not like to leave negative feedback but, for the purposes of balance, I think it is important to give all opinions and voices equal chance to be heard in the hope that it helps other customers. I have the Colour Nectar Pigment Balm in Bee Sting and Hummingbird, an Inner Glow Creme Pigment in Delirium and a Lip Sheer in Bittersweet. This review is for the Colour Nectar Pigment Balm in Hummingbird. Compared to the Inner Glow Creme Pigment, the Colour Nectar Balm formula is more emollient and comfortable and is a slightly more sheer formula. Do not be mislead into thinking that the pigment level in the Colour Nectar Balm is low. These are still very, very pigmented but can be sheered out more easily than the drier, stiffer Inner Glow formula. If you are looking for a product to wear on the lips, I would recommend the Colour Nectar over the Inner Glow formula. The Colour Nectar Balm is more comfortable although I still found it quite drying, especially when wearing over a period of a few hours. The initial feel is slightly more moisturising but this quickly evaporates to a less comfortable, thirsty skin feel. On the lips, I felt that I needed to apply balm before this product and I still would have preferred to moisturise on top of this. By comparison to the Inner Glow Pigment, the Colour Nectar Balms are slightly smaller but this is very fairly reflected in the price difference. The main disappointment for this product came from the colour description of Hummingbird as a ‘vibrant, euphoric summer watermelon.’ In reality, Hummingbird translates onto my lips and skin as a deepened cool red with a definite vampy edge. I was hoping for bright, cheerful, summer watermelon with a warm, sunny feel but what I got was a much more bitten red, vampirish character. Would I recommend this product to others? Sadly, although I would prefer this slightly over the Inner Glow formula, I just found it very uncomfortable to wear over any period of time and not very pleasurable to use. It may be that my skin just reacts negatively to the ingredients used (lavender oil in particular can be problematic for many) but I can only give my honest experience and opinion. I hope someone finds it helpful in choosing the best products for them.

Lovely range of colours
I bought the shade bee sting to use on my lips and the colour is gorgeous! It feels a little on the dry side on my lips. The colour seemed to last a little while, although not as long as I'd hoped. The packaging is cute. Not sure if I'd buy again in all honesty.

Great multipurpose balm
These are handy little compacts of colour. I got the shades bee-sting and glass wing and they are amazing on the cheeks and lips. Can also be worn on lids and they last all day, even on the lips. They can be a natural flush on the lips or you can amp it up for a more intense look. Will definitely be getting other shades in the range.

I have a few other products from this brand that I like and I wanted to try the balm to compare. I love that it’s clean beauty and it feels lovely on the skin. It’s smaller than I expected, smaller than the other ream products in this line and it’s sheerer and more dewy. It’s great for a no makeup makeup day where you still want a pop of colour and it shows up well on my medium skin tone, but it’s not one I reach for when I want a more ‘made up’ long wearing look. I do enjoy combining it sometimes with matte blushes - adding it over the top for a bit of colourful glow which wears away naturally through the day leaving the matte blush underneath.
