Didn't live up to expectations

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I was really excited to try this SPF, but I struggled with it. The colour gave off a white-ish cast on my brown skin and it was difficult to get it to absorb. I also found that it pilled under my foundation. I will probably just use it as a body SPF and find something else for my face.

SPF 30 SUNSCREEN

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I like this sunscreen very much!! It doesn't leave a white film on the skin and is very moisturising. I have combination skin and am very oily on my T-zone but my skin hasn’t been as greasy unlike other sunscreens that I have tried.

Good mineral sunscreen for darker skin tones.

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

Just tried this. A good mineral sunscreen for my Fitzpatrick 4 skin. On the first application you couldn’t tell I was wearing something although in direct morning light there was the lightest of whitening, but again not like I was wearing something. On my second application of the day you could easily see a white cast. So not great if you’re apply it twice in one day. But oh god this was difficult to get off. I did a double cleanse with the inkey cleansing balm and then Paula’s choice foaming cleanser and there was still a lot left in my stubble and and hair line and forehead. Considered doing a triple cleanse but just wiped the excess with a wet cotton pad. Going forward I’ll use this once a day as my first application of sunscreen and then later as a top up I’ll use a chemical sunscreen. Overall it’s good and my second favourite mineral sunscreen. I’ll keep buying it as it’s a very good price for a mineral sunscreen in England.

Thick and leaves a white cast

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I am medium asian skin toned and I got this after the reviews said it doesnt leave a cast on the skin. It does. Skin looks unhealthy after using this. And its thick too.. I badly wanted to like this physical sunscreen but I guess ill go back to the supergoop. Pass..

Very impressed

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I’m very impressed with this sunscreen. It comes out a light beige color but the moment you rub it in, the color completely disappears. I have fair skin and I can’t notice it at all. It sank right in and didn’t feel heavy like other mineral sunscreens. It also wasn’t shiny at all. I was able to apply it around my eyes without any irritation which is very rare for me as my eyes are very sensitive. I removed one star because I wish it came in spf 50 rather 30 , also I did feel like my pores were a little more visible when worn under makeup. I might definitely repurchase.

Had higher expectations...

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I'm not very fair skinned at all but this sunscreen was too dark for me, and looked like I was wearing a foundation, definitely not lightweight. I doubt it blended well into all the skin tones as advertised 'like wearing nothing'. Furthermore, the tube is quite small for how much you're paying, and if using the right amount of sunscreen on a daily basis it will run out quite quickly.

Better than expected...

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I’ve struggled in the past with tinted sunscreens because of my combination skin, esp with sebaceous filaments on my nose. This sunscreen goes on really well and, while I can ‘feel it’ on my skin, everytime I check the mirror it looks great, a healthy matte finish and non chalky. Definitely one to keep in my routine. Would love to see a bigger tube and SPF50 version but expect it would hit chalky territory with that. Still a keeper though!

rosacea approved!!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

So I'm light - caucasian - skin type with rosacea, super sensitive and all chemical spfs cause my condition to go wild... This product is not irritating on my skin and I can stay in the sun without turning red or any flare-ups. It goes on nicely and doesn't dry out my face during the day. My tip is to apply right after your moisturizer for a better slip, spreadability and even application. If you are sweating a lot, there will be white drips emerging, however this is to be expected from a 100% mineral block. In general - I'm loving it much!!

Great spf... if you are rich

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

The product itself is pretty great. It doesn’t leave a white cast and I can easily put it on my eyelids without crying throughout the day. However, there are a few things that I don’t like about this sunscreen. 1) it doesn’t have a flip cap. This makes it awkward to apply in public as you have to put the lid down somewhere. 2) it doesn’t have a UVA star rating, although I’m sure it has great protection against UVA as it contains 22% zinc oxide. But I would like to be reassured with a rating system. 3) I would only frequently cover my whole face with this sunscreen if I was rich as it came to £18.95 per bottle including shipping. This is £37.88 /100ml. While the Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive advanced SPF 50, 5 star UVA boots rating is only £4.00/100ml as Asda
