Powerful and concentrated, this treatment offers extraordinary results.
Offering powerful, concentrated treatment – at a surprisingly tiny price – The Ordinary’s Salicylic Acid 2% Solution is ideal for oily, congested skin. Supercharged with salicylic acid, the pH-balanced formula penetrates the interior walls of pores to unclog and eliminate blemish-causing impurities and balance excess sebum production. The welcome addition of witch hazel helps to reduce redness and alleviate discomfort, leaving your complexion clearer and calmer, with a more even and refined texture.

How to conduct an at-home patch test:
Patch tests are an easy way to help predict if you will have a negative initial reaction to a new product. It is recommended to perform a patch test before incorporating a new product into your routine. We have outlined a general method for conducting your own patch test.
- Apply a small amount of the product onto a clean area of skin on the upper forearm.
- Keep the area dry, preferably covered with a bandage.
- After 24 hours, uncover the area and rinse.
- If any redness, burning, itching, blistering or irritation is observed at any time throughout the test, do not use the product.
Please note that the patch test is only for determining initial irritation reactions to products and does not guarantee similar results when applied to other areas of the body (including the face) or after continuous use. It does not account for underlying conditions and should not be used for the diagnosis of hypersensitivity or allergic contact dermatitis. If you are concerned about starting a new product, please consult a dermatologist prior to use.

No effect on blackheads.
I have blackheads on my nose due to enlarge pores and oily skin. My skin felt slightly tight and smooth after application but blackheads persisted.

Meh others are better
No noticeable difference to my blackheads or sebaceous filaments I got results with Paula's choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant but it is pricey so this one is worth a go if you're on a budget

Best skin I've ever had
This was the only thing that cleared my skin up. In a month or so of day and night use (!! might be too intense for sensitive skin though !!) with SPF in the morning and cream at night my skin had barely any spots and pores were minimised. Holy grail product!

Amazing!!
I had moderate acne previously, I tried this and it helps me clean my skin SO MUCH! Now I get considerably less spots! :) However, it did take a few months to see results, which is understandable but if you haven't seen results yet, keep trying it for a longer bit of time and see if it works then.

SENT ME TO THE HOSPITAL
I thought it was just me this had happened to but as I searched through the reviews I see it has happened to a few people too. When I first applied the product it fell fine but after a couple minutes it started to burn but I just assumed the product was working. I then woke up in the middle of the night to go the toilet and noticed my skin was bright red and stung so I rinsed my face with cold water. When I finally woke back up in the morning my skin was full of oozing blisters that constantly poured out with yellow liquid. Looking back at pictures my face was also extremely swollen but I hadn't noticed at the time because I was so distraught about the blistering. That day I didn't put anything on my skin because it was too painful and went to sleep hoping it would scab up and heal. However, when I woke up I couldn't see anything. I felt an immense pressure on my eyes because my whole face had swollen up so that my eyes were completely closed shut and I had to use my fingers to open them and see properly. I went straight to A&E as there was serious concern my throat may close up. The only way I could describe how I looked was as if I had just been burnt in a fire and stung by a million bees at the same time. As soon as I got there I was told it could either be an allergic reaction or a chemical burn, but I don't think it was an allergic reaction as before this product I'd been using salicylic acid for years in other products that didn't have this effect on my skin. Anyway just thought I'd share probably one of the worst experiences of my life as it was humiliating.
