Stripping back unnecessary packaging and misleading ingredients, The Ordinary offers an abundance of brilliant, high-performance products at eye-wideningly reasonable prices – and their Squalane Cleanser is no exception! Carefully formulated for all skin types, this clever potion dissolves make up and the day's dirt while simultaneously moisturising with a combination of squalane and other lipophilic esters.
This gentle cleanser is anything but ordinary, removing make up and impurities as it retains your skin's moisture – unlike some harsher cleansers, there's no need to worry about tightness after using this. Star of the show is squalane, a first-class hydrator that's found naturally in the skin, helping to prevent loss of moisture and boost suppleness. This combines with other lipophilic esters to dissolve make up and unwanted grime for clean and clog-free pores. The hard-working formula feels balm-like when first applied, changing to a clear oil-like texture when warmed into your skin – an important feat that allows emulsifying sucrose esters to capture the dissolved make up and dirt and rinse them away. Free from soap, which can cause irritation or 'strip' the skin, this crowd-pleasing cleanser respects your complexion's natural epidermal lipids, making it suitable for all skin types – even sensitive ones.
Squalane, Aqua (Water), Covo-Caprylate/Carpate,Glycerin, Sucrose Stearate, Ethycal Macadamiate, Malic Acid, Trocopherol, Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone, Sucrose Laurate, Sucrose Dilaurate, Sucrose Trilaurate, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate,Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Isoceteth-20, Sodium Polyacrylate, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Ethylhexylglycerin,Chlorphenesin

Sadly Disappointed
I was really disappointed with this product mainly because of the amount needed to wash face properly. I don’t think I wear that much on my face but felt I needed to use quite a lot to feel satisfied my face was clean - so afraid I will not rebuy as it is just not worth it . A rather over hyped product in my humble opinion .

Lovely
I really like the texture of this cleanser, it’s very silky. I think it’s easy to think you need more than you do and it doesn’t go far but you don’t need more than a pea size. It doesn’t make my skin feel dry after using like a lot of cleansers. I gave the product 4 stars not 5 just because it’s only 50ml and I feel like I’m going to need a new one in a few weeks which isn’t ideal when I use it twice a day, every day and the more of these I buy in a short space of time is more plastic waste in the oceans!!! Should be at least 100ml, 200ml would be best. I’m 26 and have dry skin.

Its a good one!
I love Elemis and Drunk Elephant cleansers! This is a great option if you are on a budget but still want that lovely massage oil cleanser feeling when you wash your face. It does not have any fragrance really so not really aromatic but what it lacks in fragrance it makes up for in sensation and price!

My go to cleanser!
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve bought this now, at least 7+ times. I always have at least one and a spare in. I love how clean my skin feels when I use it and it really washes away any residue either from overnight skincare products or daily grime, leaving a really nice clear base for me to layer up my skincare. It’s not harsh, so it doesn’t break me out, but also leave my skin feeling nice and fresh. My holy grail!

I like this!
I have sensitive skin and only use The Ordinary products daily, I love the products! I take off my makeup before using this Squalane cleanser and its fab for extra removal of makeup. Used with the Moisturising factor + HA, it leaves my skin soft and glowing.

Very impressed
I have very dry skin but also very prone to acne lump flares ..This thoroughly cleaned and moisturised my skin and it did not make me break out at all. My skin felt smooth like satin and it actually reduced some wrinkling I had and I love the fact it is only tested on humans, it is very reasonably priced. All of the benefits none of the hype

Good product, ridicolous wasteful packaging
The cleanser itself is lovely, amazing texture and melts away makeup. However for a cleanser to come in a 50ml bottle is not just a ridiculous idea but also very bad for the environment as you will go through one every 2-3 weeks. If The Ordinary is committed to sustainability they should change this to come in a tube/bottle of at least 120ml (or ideally 190ml). If this happened I would give 5 stars for sure.
