Stripping back unnecessary packaging and misleading ingredients, The Ordinary offers an abundance of brilliant, high-performance products at eye-wideningly reasonable prices – and their Squalane Cleanser is no exception! Carefully formulated for all skin types, this clever potion dissolves make up and the day's dirt while simultaneously moisturising with a combination of squalane and other lipophilic esters.
This gentle cleanser is anything but ordinary, removing make up and impurities as it retains your skin's moisture – unlike some harsher cleansers, there's no need to worry about tightness after using this. Star of the show is squalane, a first-class hydrator that's found naturally in the skin, helping to prevent loss of moisture and boost suppleness. This combines with other lipophilic esters to dissolve make up and unwanted grime for clean and clog-free pores. The hard-working formula feels balm-like when first applied, changing to a clear oil-like texture when warmed into your skin – an important feat that allows emulsifying sucrose esters to capture the dissolved make up and dirt and rinse them away. Free from soap, which can cause irritation or 'strip' the skin, this crowd-pleasing cleanser respects your complexion's natural epidermal lipids, making it suitable for all skin types – even sensitive ones.
Squalane, Aqua (Water), Covo-Caprylate/Carpate,Glycerin, Sucrose Stearate, Ethycal Macadamiate, Malic Acid, Trocopherol, Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone, Sucrose Laurate, Sucrose Dilaurate, Sucrose Trilaurate, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate,Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Isoceteth-20, Sodium Polyacrylate, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Ethylhexylglycerin,Chlorphenesin

It's a keeper
I don't wear makeup at all but I use sunscreen daily, so although I've never wanted to use a balm I thought I'd try this. It's perfect! It goes from a thick cream to an oily, comforting balm that spreads really easily on my skin, cleaning it of all traces of SPF and any other pollutants my skin encounters during the day. It never feels harsh or leaves my skin feeling stripped. Just nice and clean and ready for my night routine. And for this price ... you can't beat it.

Great!
The best cleanser I’ve ever used. It melts the most stubborn makeup and leaves skin soft and smooth with no residue. I wipe off with a muslin cloth and it works a treat. I just wish they did larger tubes!!

Mixed feelings
It's not a great cleanser, or it just didn't work well with my skin. I don't know. I won't buy this again.

Doesn't do anything
I was really excited to try some of The Ordinary products, however, I was so disappointed in this one. It doesn't remove the makeup properly, I had to use another cleanser afterwards as this one would leave lots of the makeup on the face (sometimes when I only had powder on). I ran out of it really fast and was disappointed. It also dries out the skin.

Perfect but...
Cleanser is perfect, but the price for 50 ml is extremely high, if you compare to price of 50 ml of any other cleanser, this one has a price typical for luxury goods

My Fave Cleanser
I love this cleanser, great at removing make-up and leaving my skin feeling soft. Only wish the bottle was a bit bigger as 50ml is quite a small bottle for a cleanser I use morning and night.

Amazing
This has to be my favourite cleanser. Yes the price is a bonus but the only other cleanser to leave my skin this soft is Emma Hardie. I cant agree more, please make bigger sizes!

Really good
It's a great makeup remover that leaves my skin clean without stripping it. It dissolves makeup just perfectly without irritating my eyes and my sensitive skin feels just great after this cleanser. I'll definitely repurchase it, and I wish The Ordinary offered it in a larger tube... 150 ml? Would be a dream come true!

Not sure...
I love the concept of the product and I love the brand, but it feels like it leaves a layer of grease and doesn’t remove makeup as deeply as other oils. (Bodyshop for instance) Very inexpensive!

Brilliant... but!
Great cleanser, removes every scrap of make up leaving the skin soft and smooth. Only complaint is the amount of product. Although it appeared to be sealed, the container seemed half empty when it arrived and having used it for barely 2 weeks it is now almost gone completely.
