The Ordinary has firmly cemented itself as a leader in science-backed skin care. Taking the guesswork out of building a regime, it ditches unnecessary, filler ingredients for familiar, hard-working actives that deliver promising results. A case in point is the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% (30ml), a gentle serum designed to smooth, brighten and plump.
Want to improve the appearance of dull, lacklustre skin while you sleep? Cue The Ordinary's Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres (30ml) treatment.
At the centre of this water-free formula is L-ascorbic acid (AKA the purest form of vitamin C) which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. Famed for its brightening abilities, this acid reduces the appearance of an uneven skin tone and dark spots. That's not all though; with the infusion of hyaluronic acid spheres, this treatment also hydrates and plumps the skin. It's ideal to use at bedtime, so you can wake up with a radiant, supple and more youthful-looking complexion.
Ascorbic Acid, Squalane, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Coconut Alkanes, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glucomannan, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trihydroxystearin, Bht.

Apply a small amount to the face once daily, ideally in the evening. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Use sun protection during the day. A tingling sensation can be expected; if the sensation is too strong, the formula can be mixed with other oils of your preference before each application to reduce the strength.

Be careful if sensitive to smell! ❤️
Although I absolutely adore The Ordinary products, I just can’t get myself to love this one! The gritty texture didn’t bother me at first as I thought it might be exfoliating, however, I am just very sensitive to the metallic, rusty smell - it’s so bad I’m going to have to wash my pillow, lol! Not disappointed in the slightest, as it did leave my skin looking glowy and soft I just think this wasn’t for me! :)

Works Wonders
No, this product doesn't have the best smell (although it isn't over powering or long lasting). Yes, it does tingle in the early days, to the point where I wanted to itch my face in - the - worst- way. But patience paid off, and my skin has not looked this good in many years. Many of my dark spots are almost gone, and my skin tone looks almost as good as when I was a teenager!

Gritty Texture,
Doesn't soak into the skin easily and very gritty texture almost scratching the skin. Normally love The ordinary products so will keep going for a few weeks to see if we have any major improvements visually but not the most luxurious product which is hardly surprising at the price! The smell is a little metallic but perhaps this is amplified as it doesn't seem to be absorbed like other serums/creams etc.

Patience is key
This serum can be a very tricky texture to work with(like rubbing glitter on your face). Over the course of a week I tried it daily in the AM with a variety of products- -mixing with moisturiser- was too oily for the summer time -mixing with argineline - was quite comfortable -applying by itself- was fine on a cooler day but on warm days it’s too greasy - applying with HA- worked best, but just one drop if it’s the ordinary HA, as it’s quite sticky if you use too much By the end of one week trying and testing aside, there was notable change in acne scars, It’s been one month since I first started using this, I didn’t have any unrealistic expectations from this, but yet, the acne marks are down to a pin dot size. I can confidently say this is working.

Weird but good!
This liquid with vit c is a bit gritty and you have to mix it with something else or put up with maybe not always going into your skin smoothly but the results are SO worth it!If you have red scars left after spots and uneven, damaged skin it is one of the few products that has actually’mended’my skin and totally faded the marks. The only thing is ,like all proper vit c products, after leaving it on the skin long enough you do go a bit orange as it oxidises with the air!Overall though it is totally worth it for the wonderful difference it makes to uneven, scarred skin!

Very smelly!
Agree with all the comments about the texture but it seems to be good at brightening my skin HOWEVER I cannot use it because of the very strong metallic smell it has. When I first used it I drove myself crazy trying to pinpoint where the strong iron smell was coming from, and my husband informed me it was me! The smell also lingers after I've washed my face - it really is so strong. Shame.

Love this product
My skincare routine is made up of The Ordinary products. I rotate each night using retinol, peptides and vitamin c as they shouldn’t all be used in the same routine. I really like this product it is the only vitamin c product I have used out of the ordinary and it makes my skin look dewy and hydrated. I did experience some tingling the first time I used it however my skin is used to it now. The texture is a little bit gritty like exfoliator but I use this and then my natural moisturising cream with HA from the ordinary once it has absorbed. I have repurchased this and will maybe think about trying the other vitamin c products but for now, I really like the way this makes my skin look.

Horrible
I was expecting a serum texture like but it was a gritty exfoliating texture and I definitely do not want to put it on my face it was gross enough on my hand it doesn’t blend just stays a gritty texture on your skin. Don’t buy.

Vitamin C suspension
I love this now I've got hang of using it I mix the tiniest bit with my usual serum at night and wake up with the smoothest skin just be careful as the amount that comes out of the tube is way too much and u can waste a lot. Overall five stars from me and I will continue using it.

Okay, tecture not for me.
I feel a little bad leaving this review as The Ordinary do great products for good prices but the texture for me was too heavy. I have combination skin so need something much lighter. If you don't have this skin type I think it would be good for you. Always worth trying to see what will or won't work.
