The Ordinary has firmly cemented itself as a leader in science-backed skin care. Taking the guesswork out of building a regime, it ditches unnecessary, filler ingredients for familiar, hard-working actives that deliver promising results. A case in point is the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% (30ml), a gentle serum designed to smooth, brighten and plump.
Want to improve the appearance of dull, lacklustre skin while you sleep? Cue The Ordinary's Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres (30ml) treatment.
At the centre of this water-free formula is L-ascorbic acid (AKA the purest form of vitamin C) which remains completely stable due to the absence of water. Famed for its brightening abilities, this acid reduces the appearance of an uneven skin tone and dark spots. That's not all though; with the infusion of hyaluronic acid spheres, this treatment also hydrates and plumps the skin. It's ideal to use at bedtime, so you can wake up with a radiant, supple and more youthful-looking complexion.
Ascorbic Acid, Squalane, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Coconut Alkanes, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glucomannan, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trihydroxystearin, Bht.

Apply a small amount to the face once daily, ideally in the evening. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes. Use sun protection during the day. A tingling sensation can be expected; if the sensation is too strong, the formula can be mixed with other oils of your preference before each application to reduce the strength.

Definitely not for daytime
This suspension has 23% vitamin C spheres in it. This means the suspension is slightly oily and cannot be smoothed over the face like a cream or gel serum can be. I found that when I tried to smooth it into my skin by sweeping it on with my fingers all the product balls up and feels gritty and leaves lumps on your face. It's horrible. The texture is horrible and honestly isn't worth it even if it is cheap. I used this product by dabbing it onto my skin with my fingertips which wasn't great as with Vitamin C you should wear a SPF. I wore my la-roche posay one and when I started to sweep it onto my face the vitamin C starting balling up with the SPF and wouldn't soak into my face. Nearly gave this review a 1 just based on how much I disliked the product. I do feel like if you wear it at night and dab it on it will work and penetrate the skin. It feels tingly on the skin so initially, I would use it every other day. Recommendation: no!! Do not buy it! There are many better ones out there!

Thumbs up
I've been using this for the past two weeks (PM) and I can see it is starting to work (I have oily skin prone to acne and painful under the skin cysts). Although it tingles when applied, it smooths the skin pretty instantly. At first, it caused my chin to break out but the spots would appear overnight and heal during the day. In the morning, my skin can be oily but it feels healthy, glowy and hydrated. Overall, I'm happy with this product and I know it'll work in the long term. My only criticism comes in regards to packaging; the tub is slightly awkward to use as the solution is quite liquid. The first time I used it, I wasted some of it as it spilt everywhere. Apart from that, 5*.

Good
I have used it for about a month along with retinol we night. I use this in the morning. The consistency is slightly grainy and tastes Saltey if it gets on your lips! Overall it’s good. I feel like it plumps and brightens my skin! Makeup goes on fine after! Gives a tiny stingy got feeling but soon goes

At first it was really sticky on my face and felt really oily but after a week of using it my skin let it in smooth and nice, gives a glow effect that is really nice!

First impression
It's too early to tell if it's working but I am using it alongside other products and quite like what I see so far. It's quite grainy but it feels nice like I'm exfoliating my skin. I don't get any tingling sensation but my skin is quite tough. It sinks in then feels like a rich moisturiser. Don't lick your lips though as it tastes gross. I wake up in the morning and my skin feels oily but in a good way if that makes sense. I remove the product and then apply a morning exfoliator... worth a try - especially for the price.

Love love love
I have only been using this product 3 nights! So prob a bit premature for a review but the way this has made my skin feel after applying PM after shower or make up removal warrants a review. My skin feels like silk and I looked in the mirror before and thought my skin looks good! Normally it’s blotchy with red areas! I also got the 2% serum which I use in the morning before my primer and make up. Moisturiser is on its way too! I think I will 100% be sticking with this brand.

LOVE this stuff!
Amazing product - has helped to control my breakouts whilst also brightening my skin and reducing acne scarring. Yes, the product is slightly gritty but I found working the product into the skin by gently pushing it in helps to ensure the 'grittiness' doesn't remain on your face.

Listen
So this product gives me great results - glass-like skin with less texture smooths wrinkles and firms at an amazing price.

Not for vit C amateurs
This was the first vitamin C product I bought when I was looking to incorporate it into my routine - the first time I used this I had to wash it off my face no more than 5 mins later due to the amount that it stung. It was unbearable. I think this percentage of vitamin C is for those who have already had vitamin C in their routine for some time and have built up a tolerance to it. For beginners, The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% would be a better alternative. I'm still waiting to build up my tolerance to this product so I haven't used it since that 1 time, which is why I have given it 4 stars.
