This sunscreen sparks joy!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I am an avid sunscreen user and always on hunt for a good sunscreen. This is one of the best I have ever tried, if not the best. As a physical sunscreen it gives zero white cast (my skin is fair - neutral - oily). It's not completely matte, but I like the slight glow. Non-sticky, doesn't burn my eyes or skin like most chemical sunscreens. It's a bit hard to spread, but nothing I couldn't deal with. This one doesn't contain fragrance, which is very important to me. Overall very gentle and moisturising sunsreen.

This is a great sunscreen. NO white cast. A bit thick but blends very well. Love it.

Good and matte for oily skin

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

I bought this for my extremely oily skin and it does a great job in keeping me matte. Doesn’t break me out which I love. If u are buying it for the tint then that is hardly there. You just dont get a white cast but it will not replace ur tinted moisturiser.

It broke me out

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

The product is nice, spreads well and feels lightweight. However, I think it broke me out as I haven’t used any other newness on my face.

Nice but...

4 stars out of a maximum of 5

For reference: I'm East Asian with medium skin and an olive undertone. My skin type is combo-oily. This is by far the only mineral-tinted sunscreen that doesn't look grey on me. It does look white and a bit off upon application but blends into my skin really well. I do agree the texture is super thick and not easy to rub in especially if you are in a rush and can pill like crazy when layering incorrectly. On me, this leaves more like a soft matte finish, meaning there is still some dewiness once it settled but it's not too drying like other mineral sunscreens or super shiny like other hydrating SPFs I tried. As it's tinted, I feel like it evens out my skin albeit with zero coverage so on my good skin day I can just use this and a concealer and I'm good. I like pairing this with Summer Fridays CC me serum and the Pioneer moisturizer by Pai - 3 simple steps and no pilling at all!

NOT MATTIFYING!

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

FEATURES: - very thick, which I don't mind. I find it rubs in quite well and blends out quickly for a mineral sunscreen. PROS: - nice tint (I am fair skinned and the tint looks alarming, however, I find it blends out quite nicely.) CONS: - not mattifying (this is definitely a con if this is what you were hoping for. If you do like that glow/shine, you will like this. I do have oily/combo skin however, and this just looks greasy. I have used actual mattifying mineral sunscreens before, which this isn't. Completely incorrect to market it as such!) - sits on skin (again, this doesn't seem to sink in at all, forever looking greasy). - Eye irritation (I didn't expect this as a zinc oxide sunscreen but something in this seems to irritate my eyes, making them water and feel uncomfortable) FINAL THOUGHTS: Honestly, If I had been looking for a shiny look, this would be 5*. I think Ultra Violette has done a great job of making a zinc oxide sunscreen that is so sleek and shiny. Some people may like that... on many skins it may be described as 'dewy/healthy glow', but on oily skin types like mine who actually want a mattifying sunscreen as our natural oils will bring out that 'glow' anyway, this is not what is wanted! I'd give it 1* but decided on 2* for the merits of the formulation since it is the look some people will like. Really disappointed. It's not cheap but I feel I need to use it up so it doesn't go to waste :'(

My forever SPF

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

I've had skin cancer, so facial SPF every day is critical in my book. However, everyone I tried made my eyes water. It took me a long time to even figure out it was my SPF causing it! I have very fair, combination skin (think almost see-through) and this is my forever skincare hero. I find it easier to naturally pat it into my skin after my moisturiser and using it this way seems to avoid any pilling or potential issues with the mild tint. Absolutely no problems with layering either. Most importantly for me, apart from it being reef-friendly and free from nasties, is that it doesn't irritate my eyes or skin, and keeps me from being shiny effectively. Abso-blooming-lutely LOVE this product!

For whom is this product?

2 stars out of a maximum of 5

I bought this as it promised a matte finish and claimed to be for oily skin. But it definitely is not. It is super thick, so thick that it is hard to spread it through the face. It is the first time I use such a thick sunscreen…. It also doesn’t become matte at all - my face looks like I put butter on it and makeup I applied on my face doesn’t really sit well- it slides down:)) after some time it became slightly less shiny- but still, this is not what is usually anyone with oily skin would call „Matt“. Generally, during the day I have always felt its presence on my face. What was the motivation behind promoting this as a product for oily skin?:)

Unsure

3 stars out of a maximum of 5

I have to say for a non-nano 22% zinc sunscreen it is really not bad but I have combination skin and I just don’t find it matte whatsoever in the summer anyway, maybe I'll retry in winter. I’m quite fair also and the tint makes me look a bit odd. If I’m on the beach however I’d definitely reach for this as I know I’d be protected

Holy Grail!

5 stars out of a maximum of 5

This is honestly on a whole other level! it applies thick but easily rubs into the skin, and feels effortlessly light once it's settled on the skin. I haven't quite used a sunscreen like this - I've just thought 3 more because it seems to sell out a lot. This is not matt Finnish in a traditional sense, but it brings a gorgeous healthy glow, that my combination skin loves. Doesn't irritate my eyes as most sunscreens do, Particularly eczema-prone people I think will love this! I have spent so much money these last months trying to find the perfect sunscreen and although this is pricey, it sure does the job like no other. If you are missing the Kravebeauty Beet The Sun sunscreen since it has been discontinued, I would recommend this as your replacement! (Would go as far as to say this is better!)
